Welcome to Librarium Online!
More likely then not, I am not the first person to think of this idea...
I intend to convert my Deathguard using Beastmen heads and legs. I love the idea of an army of goat-headed, diseased abominations spreading the doctrine of Nurgle. Not to mention it would make my Deathguard a bit more unique.
For my basic troops I will probably just swap heads and feet, using basic chaos space marine models rather then the actual plague marine ones (plastic is a lot easier to work with then metal). Then I will do some green stuff work to make it look more nurgly. I am not sure what I am going to do for my daemon prince yet.
I am unsure of something though... I am not very familiar with the size of Beastmen. Would their heads replace chaos marine heads easily enough?
I love, love, love this idea and think it is very nurgly. I intend to write fluff and all that jazz for my army. I will post it here when I do.
Comments and ideas on how to improve the conversions, specific models i should steal bitz from, paint schemes, ect. would all be appreciated! Thank you very much, and I look forward to hearing what people think.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly by Beastmen, I'm assuming the "Beast Herds" from the Games Workshop website (I'm just not knowledgeable on Fantasy - I'm sure the term Beastmen refers to something specific, I can just only guess what) in whick case I'm not sure if you've taken a look at the sprue --> http://store.us.games-workshop.com/s...e=b&Img=250954 <-- it looks like the legs might be next to impossible, but the heads look very very manageable, and I would also suggest replacing the Chaos Marine CCW arms with the much cooler Beatmen axes and halberds and such. Also, this conversion looks pretty inexpensive ($35 for 20 beastmen = wow)
If you didn't mean the Beast Herds, I would actually suggest you look at them instead, a lot of the other Beastmen-y Fantasy models are full metal and near impossible to convert as far as I can tell.
Good Luck Converting is tons of fun even when it doesn't work, and is one of the main reasons I've stuck with Chaos so much despite my dabblings in other armies.
Back from the dead to haunt new houses.
Send me a hello if you remember me.
Beast Herd heads and arms should go perfectly with a Marine torso, but I'd throw in a little Green Stuff just to make completely sure. The legs... forget it. The imagery of Chaos Space Marines with cloven hooves isn't even that good when I picture it.
How you model your Daemon Prince? Check what wargear he has and give him something that makes sense. Myself, back as a newb to the hobby, I decided my GW Daemon Prince should have a Personal Icon and constructed this gigantic banner about as tall as the Prince carrying it, sprouting from his backpack area. I'll get some photos of the thing if I can but it's a fairly old one.
Yes, the Beastmen arms are officially cooler than Chaos Space Marine arms.
For a size indicator, I used almost un-converted Beastmen to make my Bloodletters (the main conversion was turning their weapons into hellblades) and they're about the same size as a Marine, maybe a bit taller.
