Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm toying with some lascannon team ideas since I hate how utterly static the standard teams look.
So, my first thought was, "Hey, what about smaller lascannons. Like Marines have?" I don't have pics for it since I haven't been able to make it work, but I imagine I could somehow fit a SM lascannon (I have a few of the old ones that sat on the shoulder) onto an IG model...
Other ideas include just leaving bits off the standard setups or using the older, small lascannons on the new mounts:
Another idea I have is, "Hey, what about OGRYNS?" If I can get an Ogryn to carry the lascannon and then have "something" else as a loader model, maybe a ratling or Necromunda Juve. That way I can still remove a model for the wound and have the lasgun still represented. The Ogryn will just count as a large IG...
Converting a Ripper Gun:
Somehow create new hands (Greenstuff, most likely) and use an IG lascannon.
RecklessFable's Journey to Mediocrity (Painting an IG army)
I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
I cut most of the lower part of the LC off, and I shortened the barrel, and just had a Guardsmen carry it on his shoulder. Since it is laser-based weapon, there is no recoil, so as long as it's possible to carry without breaking your back there'd be no issue with him being able to fire it.
If you think Mathammer doesn't work and dice cannot be predicted, there's a whole field of mathematics called probability that would like to disagree.
Those new marine devastators might be of use to you, the lascannon spure could undergo a bit of conversion and you'd have a nicely sized weapon, then just have another guardsmen carrying extra power cells. Just an idea...
"Fight for justice, not revenge."
FoW Gepanzerte Panzergrenadiers who took a wrong turn at Tunisia and magically appeared in Normandy as Panzer Lehr: Wins: 11 Losses: 8
i love the idea of using th ogrins, gives IG a little orky feel to it. would the rules still be the same?
the guys sitting on the sand bags look like they are about to fall off though, i'd brace their feet so it looks like they are at least pressed up against something. maybe move the gun and the shooter down a bit so that his back is against the sandbags? I know there's no recoil from a lasgun (at least, i don't think there is) but right now they are floating.
I love IG modeling, there's so may possibilities! Keep up the good work!
