Hello i am new to the forums and i have just got my modeeling up to a standard were i can make a decent stab at a primach so i want to go down the route of corax i am getting the parts i need i just need an idea as to how to scuplt feathers on his cape to cover up the fur any other ideas would be good idea
he will be based onan acheon on foot model :ninja:
Aren't there capes for FB chaos that have feather trimming. If not I would make a GS cloak then stamp some little feathers on it to looks like piled feathers. go from bottom to top to make it look overlaping

thanks for that what would be some good featheres to stamp
Find anybody who plays Empire or uses Empire for Dogs of War. They'll have tons of spare hats with feathers.
If you think Mathammer doesn't work and dice cannot be predicted, there's a whole field of mathematics called probability that would like to disagree.
If you're covering the whole cloak with feathers, make sure you start from the bottom.
Make rows of roughly oval shapes with GS (make sure they're flat). Once you have the first row on, take a scalpel or what ever knife you have and cut lightly from the middle out to the edges of the ovals so that they resemble feathers.
Then overlap the next row, and the next, and the next until you've covered the area where you needs the feathers.
Just make sure that whatever area you're covering, start at the bottom and work your way up in overlapping rows.
Oh, and a big tip, let your GS cure on the model every couple of rows so that you don't flatten any rows or get fingerprints in it while you're handling the model. Trust me on that one. I always want to rush and get everything done at once.
If you are looking for mass feathers then I would use a tequnique known as stamping to make a lot of them Ill explain!
Step one- Find yourself a feather that you like from a previously sculped model or wherever.
Two- Mix up some green stuff. You will want it to be a little heavy with blue(hardener). You only need to mix enough to fit the feather, and I would give it a little handle at the top...like a stamp so it is easier to hold onto.
Three- Making sure that the green stuff and feather wet so the dont stick together, press the green stuff onto the feather. Then gently remove the feather from the green stuff. This will leave the imprint of the feather in the greenstuff, and let the new stamp dry.(I would let it sit overnight just to be sure it is solid.
Four- After your stamp is dry, mix up some more green stuff the same consistancy you did the stamp. Now you can do this next step one of two ways. Roll the green stuff into small balls, or roll it out into a this sheet. Either way you choose, you then just press your stamp onto the green stuff untill you get a raised print of the feather. Once again, keep things wet so they wont stick. Let the raised feathers dry for a little while. You dont want to let them harden all they way as they will be too hard to remove later. I would say about 15-20 min should work, but just experiment with timing.
Five- Take you raised feathers, and grab yourself a nice sharp exacto blade. Now, take the bladed and just run it along the underside of the feather to cut it off its block. set them aside and let them dry.
There ya go ya have feathers!!!!!
Hope this idea works for ya, and good luck in w/e you do!

thank you all very much looks like the raven shall be rising again any other sergesstions for weapons, heads, long hair or how to sucpt thin lightning claws shall be most appriciated:ninja:
Quoth the raven Nevermore
A sword resembling a feather would look cool. I would use a heated knife to make the creases. First take a plastic power sword, make a line going down the center, then vein off from the center to the blade like a feather looks. You could use the beakie marine helmet, or go with long hair. Just remember to give him a pointy nose.
And Primarchs are giants among men. They tower over terminators. Try using terminator legs and arms, and use a regular marine torso. I did that for my company champion, and he's HUGE.

he shall be based on Acheaon on foots legs mand have his body from the horse he will have the stature then its the weapon and head i need to decide upon and i think either a sword or a pair of lightnig claws and maybe two bearers
for lightning claws, and possibly a jump pack, I would consider looking at the Captain Shrike model. Those claws should work perfectly.
