Welcome to Librarium Online!
Is there a sealer or protective transparent/clear coat or spray that you guys use to keep your models from scratching or chipping paint? I don't want anything that makes the models glossy or more fragile but a protective invisible coat.
I live here in the states.
is there anything that you've used that works for you?
I've gotten some better carrying cases and pads, but am tired of having to touch up my models all the time
Jump over to the painting forum and search for threads regarding varnishes. You can get various different types (inclucing matt varnish) which might be what you're looking for. Numerous threads have covered this topic, so if you perform a search of them you should find the answers you are looking for.
The usual thing is Testors Dullcoate (excuse the spelling). It's a very matte varnish and will practically any shine you have on a miniature. However, I have heard it doesn't stand amazing to wear and tear that a gaming piece will go through. To this end, many first coat with a gloass varnish then do dullcoate afterwards. Not tried it personally, but it's one of the top ways of doing it. Apparently. =)
