I really want to use the actual Exorcist model (two of them) for my Witch Hunters army. The problem is the organ pipes at the top are heavily fond of falling off during transport. Pinning them would work but I want that part of the model to be removeable. Can anyone think of a way to keep that specific part/s together and a way to secure it for gameplay? I'm not the best with fancy modelling ideas. :]
Why do you want to remove the pipes? Is it for transport or so you can use the model to represent a different tank?
The reason I ask is because pinning could definately be a way forward if you only want to take them off during transport. You could drill long pins (at least 3) into the pipes - by this I mean drill them about 2/3 of the way up the pipes, and leave about and inch of wire showing below the pipes. You then just slot these wires into correspondoing holes in the Rhino chassis during a game and they should be long enough to hold the pipes on without glue.
If you want to use the model for different tanks then this could be a problem as the holes would be visible when the pipes are not attached. Maybe magnets are the way to go then, but I'm not sure they would provide enough strength to hold on the large metal pieces.
I'm not much a modeler so I didn't really consider the fact that pinning would work fine for my purposes, must be a brain flaw of some sort. It was purely for transport, I've never been a fan of this model is two things to me. I will have to try that, gracias.
You could glue little magnets onto the bottom of the pipe organs. Then you would be able to remove them, and they would stay in place during a game.
The pipe assembly is heavy enough that I have never had an issue with it falling off during gaming, and yet I don't have it glued, pinned or magnetized onto the tank body.
I had a conversion topic in another part of LO showing how I did mine, but apparenty the external links died when my domain had to be moved. I'll have to see what can be done to fix that.

The custom one is not much taller than the Rhino base, as the missiles stick out of the top hatch pointing up (kind of like a submarine). I am able to fit 5 Rhino chasis plus all my troops in that case...
