    Alternate Kroot Hound

Well, the Kroot hounds from GW are way too expensive, so after wracking the internet for an alternative I decided to make my own. Here is my first attempt:

This is actaully my first attempt at sculpting anything, so don't be too hard on me. I'm working on the wire frame for the next seven now, and I already decided to make the head a bit smaller. I also need to add claws and such.

Please, let me know what you think.

Generally everything is too big on your sculpt. But of course this is only your first shot at it so you've got a long way to go.

Daaaaaw! So cute! It looks like it's smiling at you!

Seriously, good job for a first try. I would make stuff smaller (head especially) and add more smaller spines along the head and back. Also, claws.

i think they are indeed a bit cuddly... still a good attempt though! i always think it's good to see someone getting creative with the material at hand!

PS: it reminds me of somethin' out of invader zim!
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

I am guessing that you are using super sculpey (SS) as your sculpting clay.

The problem with this is that you have parts that are very thick (the body) and parts that are very thin (quills) on the same model. this can cause problems when you are baking the model, as you might burn the thin stuff before the rest hardens.

My sggestion would be to either:
    1. use different putty (such as Greenstuff GS) or
    2. do the bodies in SS and add the quills later (in GS)
    Shut up and play.
