I just started collecting Tyranids after taking a break from the game for some time. I was inspired by Leech's great painting and have asked him many a question in the last few days . Thanks to him for all his patience with me. I painted up a gaunt to see how well I could paint it along the purple skin/ green carapace color scheme. While there is a lot of room for improvement I feel that it’s a pretty good start. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

I like it, different from other Tyranid colour schemes. The carapace has a nice insect and organic feel to it.

Great job! I like seeing nids in dark colours, makes them feel more alien.
That is a good Gaunt, as I know I have seen it before. One thing I think you could try is to have some more highlighting towards the edges of the carapace. You could use white or white mixed with green. Use a small drybrush and carefully apply only a small amount at the edges of the Tyranids carapace. This will help to enhance the look of the Tyranid by showing up it's carapace.
