Welcome to Librarium Online!
Seeing as i think the GW modle for this is pretty bad, and i didnt want to waste my 15 dollars on it, I decided to try my hand at GSing one. I had done some minor GS work in the past, mostly making small features on space marines and other stuff of the like, but this was my first attempt at sculpting an entire mini. Overall, its somewhere over 20 hours of work put into this guy. The legs were the hardest part for me, and i sculpted two sets that i threw out before finally getting them to where i wanted. Ok, on to the pictures.
First, squig body with no legs.
Next, with the legs!
And finally the night gobbo rider. He is half conversion, half green stuff as you will see. all plastic bits are from the NG regiment boxed set.
Comments, suggestions? Keep in mind this is my first time doing any of this, and it was pretty much trial and error, the only FAQ i read was the one on GW site.
i know that night goblins don't have big legs. but i think on this model they're too small, maybe try beefing them up a bit. nice model
I reworked the night gobbos legs a few times, and i agree, from the side view his legs look to short, but because the curve of the back of the squig is so broad that when you view them from the front i think they look just right.
but I do agree they look a bit funny from the sides,
maybe i will call this warboss squeeky Neegrabba, hes not the biggest goblin, but he has the biggest pet squig.
Very impressive work mate. Can't wait to see him based and painted!
No criticisms really, I wish I could work GS like that
Seriously impressive. That's some great sculpting particularly for a first try. With some practice you should be churning out amazing sculpts if this is any indicaton. Very, very, verrrry nice job. I'm actually going to say I like it more than the GW one, but then I'm not a fan of their giant squig. This is certainly better in my book.
Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.

I think the tail looks a bit bulgy, but I don't know the squig model that well.
Also maybe some muscle on the squigs legs would make it more appealing. It'd give it some more dimension.
