    Brass Scorpion of Khorne

So i was reading this old epic book and it mentioned a chaos warengine call the Brass Scorpion of Khorne.

Anyway, I've always been trying to justify me getting a hierophant.

    So heres my Idea;
    1. get hierophant.
    2. replace front guns with defiler claws.
    3. add bits to make it more mechanical and more chaosy(khornate)
    4. add big gunz. (any weapon concept ideas.)
    5. add stinger on the end of the tail.
    6. paint it in brass and metal colors.

anyone think this idea has any potential, or is it just stupid.

That is not dead which may eternal lie,
for in strange aeons even death may die.

Well it sounds like a cool model to have, the brass scorpion, but i think there are better ways of making it than using a ridiculously expensive model which, no matter what you put on it looks like a tyranid. I'm not sure how you'd make it, but there are definitely better ways than a heirophant, it's just too expensive and too "biological" looking to be a war engine.

If you want a Heirophant, no need to justify it. Just buy the thing, paint it, and put it in a display case in your hobby room or something.

For the Brass Scorpion idea I suggest you actually buy several defiler models and combine them into the brass scorpion (as someone else did with four carnifexes becoming a scratch-built heirophant)

Thats a great idea. however, I don't like the defiler upper body. any ideas for making it more daemonic. like some daemon upper body. need ideas here people!

Ok i found a picture in WD307 that might be what your looking for which was in GW Newcastle (dont know whether it still is) but anyway they called it the blood reaper.
Its made from defiler bits from the looks of it. When i first saw it i thought it was Epic 40k scale but it is actually W40K scale so it must be pretty dam huge.

There are quite a few models from the McFarlane range of action figures that should work for that. If you don;t mind cutting one fo those apart.
    Shut up and play.

I have a Hierophant and I don't think you can really make it look like a Chaos daemon engine, not without virtually replacing the whole thing. That Tyranid look is very distinctive and there is no way the Hierophant is going to shake it off easily. Another problem is that the resin the Hierophant is made from allows extremely fine details, if you add defiler claws to this they simply won't fit in.

There is however an alternative, it is the Death stinger. Imageeath StingerModel.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an article about it. I imagine you could find it for sale on the internet somewhere or in the shops. I have one and it is very large, easily warmachine sized. It has no specific insignia on it so you won't have to file it down loads.
