How does the 1/35 tank scale from model WW2 and Modern Day tanks compare to the 40k scale? Anyone have comparison pictures?
1/35 scale is proportional in every model, 40k is not correct in scaling amongst its models. Comparing it will be difficult.
I just literally meant, a picture of a 1/35 tank next to a 40k tank, but no problem.
it depends, do you want to make a leman russ variant, or a baneblade? Or an ork vehicle?
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

1:35 is a bit big for 40k scale. A freind of mine uses a 1:35 Modern german APC as a chimera and it is 50% bigger than the GW model.
1:48 scale tanks fit better but they are still a fraction on the large side.
You can use 1:35 smaller vehicles such as WWII light tanks as base hulls for conversions. If you want a Panzer II hull to use as the base for a 40k conversion then 1:35 is fine but if you like the look of a hull from a modern main battle tank then drop to 1:48 scale.
