Welcome to Librarium Online!
If I mixed by dark blue Vallejo paint with some light blue Citadel paint, will anything bad happen?
provided that both are of the same type (acrylic, enamel, watercolour) in this case acrylic, nothing terrible should happen. i am assuming of course that Vallejo paints are indeed acrylics. (dont shoot, ive just never used them!)

Nah, I mix vallejo and GW paints all the time. Like silver_scout said, they're both water-based acrylic, so no harm.
Until GW comes up with a way to make their paints explode when mixed with vallejo - it'll turn painting into an extreme sport.
(ducks and cowers as the highly volitile acrylics are mixed).
Seriously, the only thing you should gain from this experience is the knowledge that other paints are generally better than GW.
And non-toxic acrylics are very versitile.
And that you should stop wasting money on GW paints (unless of course you're lazy and have problems painting and then you can lash out on a bit of foundation paint)
Diabolus fecit, ut id facerem!
I tried that once. Now I will never paint again... (I'm not writing this, my assistant is since I lack arms after the mix exploded).
But yeah, there'll be no problems in mixing them.
generally you shouldnt have much trouble nowerdays, about 20+ years ago you may have (typically yellows an whites for example didnt necessarily mix with the same manufacturer, but pigments have much improved
Everything you have been told is a lie!
