I am looking for ideas for my ordo xeno ][ lord. I akready know that he is going to be standing atop a pile of either dead nids or necron limbs. Probably will have a lightning claw and bolter. Also mabey an idea of rules to use for him (such as daemonhammer that has the same effects as the daemon hammer but against nids.)
never really been a fan of house rules, though i think the 'nid hammer' would be a bit specialised for the job. it should have an effect over any xenos, though im not sure how this fluffwise would be possible (maybe ask xv-8
the lightning claw and bolter thing would probably work, though some kind of mace would be cool, just for the fact that the ordo xenos dont have a signature weapon (either that or a scythe, to take down multiple xenos scum)
btw can u use a lightning claw and a bolter, thats one pretty giant hand to reload with...
I think the Lightning Claw is the Ordo Xeno's signiture weapon, you rarely see them with anything else in pics ect.
I doubt that the xenos inquisitors use the same various weaponry of the deathwatch try appying bionic parts and limbs and probably a grey knight force halberd because fluff wise ordo xenos are users of the c'tan phase swords and other advanced weapons good luck
Why wouldn't they use the same weapons as the Deathwatch? Ordo Malleus inquisitors use the same as Grey Knights, psycannons and whatnot.
The Kill team article in the UK WD 259 (just re-read it today) shows members of the Deathwatch with power swords, lightning claws and lots of bolters.
I'm making a female Ordo Xenos Inquisitor using the Daemonhunters rules, and she will have two bolters (count as stormbolter) and use the psychic power hammerhand. She will be relatively low-cost and support my IG in close combat.
Oh, and don't use house rules :)
It's probably not necessary and will only complicate things.
you don't see an ordo malleus inquisitor walkin around with a force halberd and a gauntlet mounted storm bolter sooooo.. do shut up
sigh, if you don't have anything to say then maybe you shouldn't say it. I really do have better things to do than being insulted for no reason, and I'm sure others do too.
Ok now lads, steady on. Mayby both of you are right but quite frankly im not in the mood to explain. I wreckon if in the House you could make some rules for the Inq using a Phase Sword, mayby making it 40 Points or something? I dunno, long time since I last saw ze Codex. . .
BTW, is he a radical or puritan? That might influence both his equipment and his apperance. (though I don't know how :)
You could look at the characters from Inquisitor for inspiration on that. A monodominant puritan like Tyrus for example uses conventional equipment and is very loud and colourful, compare that to someone like the older Lichtenstein (a converted inquisitor that featured a lot in WD) with his daemon sword and more subdued colours.
For an Ordo Xenos inquisitor being radical might mean using alien technology and weapons and maybe even have aliens as part of his retinue. All this can of course be represented without any new rules... I'd probably try to convert a unique alien instead of taking for example an orc as a close combat servitor, as the existing alien races are too well defined, and probably wouldn't cooperate :)
It's probably obvious by now, but I'm more of a fan of "count as" than of house rules as you're more likely to be allowed to use your models. It all depends on your gaming group though.
sorry I was pisy the day I wrote that though..next time remember Eisonhorn when talking of inquisitors, considering he is ordo xenos and I agree completely with you on the radical puritan area .
