Im new to this forum and this being my first post i'd just like a wee bit of help converting a real cool imperial guard general.
The Officer you get with the Cadian Command squad in my opinion looks a little dull.
I mean, if he's charged by a squad of chaos termies he wouldn't really be standing there with one hand behind his back wouldn't he?
Anyway, I got alot of inspiration from the Dawn of War: Winter Assualt Computer Game and i really like the design of the Imp Guard hero, General Sturn.
He just looks so bad-ass you know?
So i was wondering if any of you fellas could give me some ideas on how to make a real cool General.
And like many other people IM NOT A VERY BIG FAN OF METAL MODELS IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?(
any help would be appreciated.
I agree with the current Cadian general being too static, the officers are a lot more "FOR THE EMPEROR" looking if you catch my drift.
Looking at the Empire General bits, they look more or less like they'd fit with Cadian bits, maybe you could mix and match the parts to make a Cadian look more elaborate and generally badass.
You could use an Empire sword, and maybe give him a bolter or storm bolter in the other hand, just a suggestion. (You gotta give him the cape, you gotta)
Here's a few links to a good bits site
Empire General Bits
That's my 2 cents worth, good luck!

Assuming that you don't mind doing a little bit of conversion work with metal I'd recommend the Lieutenant #2 from here or Chenkov with a head swap. Gaunt could work as well. Sadly almost all of our good models are metal. You could however make something interesting by taking the Cadian body and running legs and the two handed sword from the empire milita sprue. Head's up to you.

You could check out some forgeworld pieces, seeing that you dont like metal. In the cadian upgrade pack, there is a great looking body for an officer, which is a pistol being drawn across the torso out of a holster. That, combined with the peaked cap head and converted plastic legs, would look very cool. Cadian Accessories

I used Cadian plastic bits as well as bits from the new Empire stuff:
The cape is from the Outriders/pistoleirs sprue, and the head is from the Empire Handgunners sprue. The gun/sword/thing is easy enough to remove. Or you can keep it there use it as a MC weapon
Hope that helps some
Along these lines, what if you WANTED a more static set of legs? I was thinking of using the tallarn tank commander as my officer (when I get to my IG army, hopefully at the end of the summer), but he has no legs. Are there plastic legs that would look good with that?
Thanks you guys,
anymore would be great, keep em coming!
I imagine a IG general as a lazy overwieght man with a pistol sitting far back, cordinating the assults, not running into the heat of battle with a sword. maybe a fat body? thats what im doing i did the same for my orks, used a ogre body and an ork head.
