i am currently starting a beasts of chaos army heavily themed on the mark of nurgle. I have recently purchased my first beastherd, wargor and tuskgor chariot. The problem is how ever i try i cannot get a grey/green look that i want to acheive on them. I was wondering if any one could give me a colour scheme to acheive the dark murky grey/green colour i want .
WIP tau project coming soon.
If your local hobby store carries vallejo model colors that is where I would start. They have several muted natural grey or brown tones that have a slight green tint to them. Off the top of my head I can't seem to recall the specific names but the vallejo model colors have something like 255 different shades...
Barring that start mixing in just a touch of green to either a green or grey base color until you are happy.
Another approach that might work is to take a green ink and heavily water it down and apply it in layers until you achieve a green tint you are looking for.

Sounds like a case of lack of Catachan Green. That's a murky color. Slorak said it though, it's gonna take some mixing, I think, to find the hues you pursue.
Are you using Pestigors? They are my favorite (and army choice) unit in Warhammer.
I'm eager to see how you do on this. Keep us updated! Good luck
