my question is what color do you use to base your lizardmen. If i paint my skinks green then their bases can't be green ( which is usually the norm in warhammer) because i don't want the model and the bases to match too much. then what color should i use. I tried green sides and then rock painted over with brown but it looks disgusting. I also tried green sides with grey rock but the grey didn't come out strong enough for the eye. any suggestions?
I think Green on Green would be a satisfying look. That way, you can give them that camoflauged feel that Skinks are supposed to have. Skinks are a blend-in type thing, aren't they? I thought that was why they had Scouts.
I would do a green base with some tall grass to partially hide the Skink. Like he is sneaking up on the enemy, invisible in the grass.

The norm for lizard men is to paint them ice blue, green is essentially the best base color for them. As you get into the game more you'll realize about two peices of forest terrain would help alot. ignore the fact that your skinks are the same color as the base, or change them.
