In conjunction with my Predator I posted last week, I did an Nurgle HQ too in the same week (and another 14 Plague marines; which basically was to have a 750 point army within 7 days)
I'm pretty much satisfied with him. Perhaps the orangy/yellow blob could use some inking or so. With the purple/blue-ish flock I went for a alien world, thus the water wouldn't be blue or transparant. I went for a bright orange/yellow look. (I'm doing a couple of plastic trees for that same "world", though they're not orange, heh) Also, I pretty much had all these bits lying around somewhere. Including; Berzerker legs, a Berzerker chain&skull, an Undead scythe, A fantasy bannerpole, a SM commander backtorso.
The model should represent a Daemonic speed lord with a manreaper, D. visage. And probably frag 'nades & bolt pistol. Another upgrade here and there... Mark of nurgle of course too.
As for speed, there's pretty much the eternal discussion on how to model this. Longer legs, muscalar legs etc. I think running would make it stand out for being a Nurgle model. Meaning that the standard mini's for Nurgle don't have running poses. And to go with that, I'll probably won't play that often with this model with the current rules due to the new codex coming soon.
Hey mate, I've been silently following your recent nurgle army construction and I must say I'm quite impressed that you've managed to turn out a nice army in such a short amount of time. I very much liked the Nurgle predator that you posted the other day and intend to use some of the ideas you used on a Nurgle land raider sometime in the future (if that is ok with you buddy?).
Onto the Chaos Lord! I like him, He has a good pose, a huge weapon and looks rather deraged. Again, kudos for getting so many models up and read for use in such a short range of time. One thing I think needs work on with the Lord is the fact he isn't gribbly enough. As a Lord of Nurgle I imagine he would be covered in daemonic taint, boils, sores, pus and all manner of other horrible things. At the moment I think your Nurgle Lord is a little too clean and tidy. Maybe the inclusion of some rotten banners, weeping rends and sores in the armour and just general horrible-ness all over the model will make him look much more 'Nurgle' IMO.
That said mate, he already looks good as he is. Can't wait to see more of your Nurgle models over the next few weeks:yes:.
I don't mind you, using my ideas, I think it's nice to be of any influence to anyone be sure to post some pics of your work too
You're pretty much right on not having enough boils on my lord... i do have some on my butt from sitting all day painting could I count that one as a Great unclean one? Hm... I guess I don't want to go there :x
Now back to the lord and away from my butt. I don't tend to use him that much after a few months I guess. I mean, when the new codex comes out, I'll figure out a new green man. Might still use this one.... I'll see.
Well, I could post pictures of my entire plague marine models to this day... about 20 all in all. Painted up within the last 2 weeks or 3. The lord was pretty much therapy after working all day... as was the predator and were 14 plague marines (apart from 6 havocs)
I'm currently putting together another 14 marines and my first nurgling bases. I think my "major" conversion will be nurgle termies, but I'll wait for the new chaos plastics. I think NUrgle termies would benefit more from the clean shaped models of the loyalist ones, but I do need autocannons en combi-bolters on those. And I bitz-ordered some marauder torso's to make a bunch of possessed nurgle with flight. Throw in a Fisted champion... T5 in the air, heh. Oh.. .and I have a Chaos rhino awaiting construction...
But like I said, it's nice to be of any influence to anyone and it's nice to hear someone is following my work on my new army
