EDIT - New pictures are added almost daily, so scroll down to see my progress
Is the orange good, or too bright? I kind of like it, but wonder, if people will be complaining about my Necrons being like NASCAR rockets - clean, bright and orange, not "fluffy"?
NEW PICTURES - ANOTHER TWO EVENINGS OF WORK
These are still not finished, but the orange is there, just needs highlighting... Also, metal will get a wash, and highlighting. On Destroyers I might do a light effect on their long guns (from their green rods). Not sure though - Crons are supposed to be easy and quick to paint and I am eager to get those babies on the table...
OK - EVEN MORE FRESH PICTURES - STILL WIP!!!
Warriors got most of the paint on them:
I call this pictures: "There is no I in NECRONS"
ANOTHER EVENING SPENT WITH MY NECRONS - WIFE STARTS TO COMPLAIN
Well, yesterday I was able to add highlights to the shoulder pads and Destroyer skimmer chassis, as well as paint cables, finish the bases and tidy up some over paints. Left are gold symbols, and fixing up some over paints on metal elements… Should be done with this in a week if I can keep going on 5 hours of sleep for another couple of days…
As you can tell from the photos, those are not the usual, careful and subtle highlights. I used wide brush strokes and very rich paint mix. The reason was twofold: 1) I wanted to do them quickly – after all these are Necrons – the quickest army to paint, so I did not want to spend too much time on them 2) With the rich, orange base color, I wanted to go bold. I also begin to like the style of painting where color is laid down in broad strokes, with no blending at all. It look a bit cartoonish, but somehow appropriate for some projects…. I have seen a CSM army painted in this style at this year’s Adepticon and loved it very much…
A new thing I begin to see – adding color to Necrons, any color for that matter or going for the “ceramics” look will… make your Necrons less menacing and scary-looking IMHO. That is what I begin to see at least. I think color gives them a bit of SM quality, makes them more… human. I would consider making such color scheme choice twice before committing and would possibly go all-metallic if I were to start this army over.
Anyhow, here come three more pictures for today:
First one – “Traffic Jam” – box full of Necrons:
Second one - bases – look at the crystal “glow” effect – not too subtle, but took no time to paint.
Third one – Destroyers and Heavy Destroyers – See the highlights on the chassis – again – quick and dirty “hack” job there…
OK - STARTING THE FLAYED ONES NOW:
AND FINISHED FLAYED ONES (07-05-2007)
(07-09-07) HERE I GO AGAIN - 10 NEW IMMORTALS, 2 MORE WRAITHS AND... WHAT IS THAT IN THE BACKGROUND?!?
And the final model - before I get the Deceiver....

Different is good... different is nice... and original!
I don't think i have never seen Orange Scarabs around... apart from that the Necrons as I see are the standard color. Correct?
but I like what I saw...
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
NASCAR is cool (cars going around a track, WOOT! feel the burn of all the right turns!) anyway orange is original, and no-one can say it's unfluffy, cause any army can be any colour
sept pink CSM, thats just sick!
Create flames for a galaxy and it will be warm. Put a galaxy in flames and it will be warm for the rest of it's existence.
MY EYES! *goes blind*
No mate, i merely jest.
They look sexy.

I like the bases, too. Nicely done.
theyak approves. Good job. I like the colors.
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
Excellent work. I get bored of seeing the same old colors on Necron, so it's good to see some variety. Well done.
