Congratulations to Zezza for his Luna Wolves Dreadnought, now placed into the winners thread that is pinned at the top of the forum. Now, for the next challenge
Everyone has someone to look after the spiritual well being of an army, be this a space marine chaplain or an Empire Warrior Priest. Thus the challenge this month is to paint/convert/create your very own priest.
That's the theme this month, as usual if there is any problems or confusion then please PM me or Zezza or post in this here thread. We will try to answer them as best as we are able. =)
The closing date will be a month from today, which will be: 23:59 (GMT) 11th July 2007
People entering have one month in which to design, build and paint a single based model to the theme set. Members will be expected to post their pictures which will then be placed into a thread for voting. It is done so that people can improve their skills, and try out things. And purely for fun, there is no prize or anything, just the fun of it
1.) Models from any manufacturer as is allowed, as are scratch built models.
2.) There is one month to each project.
3.) One base (any size) per entry... Multiple models permanently fixed to the single base are allowed. No armies on display boards though.
4.) Models painted within the time frame are looked upon favourably. (It is of course impossible for us to check). Please use this competition to come up with a new idea.
5.) Pictures can be no wider than 700 pixels
6.) Maximum of two pictures can be posted. Single pictures of multiple views (montages) are allowed.
7.) The organisers of the competition have the right to refuse entry to any applicant if they feel it doesn't meet the criteria
8.) Voting. It is considered bad sportsmanlike to vote for yourself. You are voting on what you think is the most original, unique, clever conversion with the most groundbreaking painting techniques.
And good luck to all!!
Hell, this I may do one for. I have a Chaplain sat here to be painted and some of the new sexy (for a manling) Empire Warrior Priests. =D We'll see.
Well, Im in the process of finishing up a Chaplain which I think looks fairly good so I would like to enter..
Even though its already almost finished, I can assure you I havent spent more than a month on it !! I only got it less than a week ago.
However you make it sound like it is more about the conversion work & making it unique etc than actual painting. In which case I have no chance.. I havent converted him
Surely painting is the main factor in a painting competition? (this is the painting forum after all)
So whats the go? Do unconverted models fit the bill / stand a chance ?

It is anything. The emphasis is on painting yes, but if people want to enter a miniature that has been converted or scratch built then that's fine. These contests I envisioned the help people have a deadline and improve their painting, but in all seriousness I find that converting goes hand in hand with painting.
But basically, no, it does not have to be a converted miniature.
Hm, not sure about this.
I have a rather splendid Chaplain Cassius at home, but I don't know if I can be bothered to paint him just for display right now.
Not my favorite theme ever, I freely admit.
Does my apothecary count? He is a sort of priest of medicine. I suppose.

Do normal WFB magicians count, or does it have to be priest themed?
