Just curious: Occasionally I see Space Marines with amber eye lenses. What colors are best for reproducing that? I know people use scab red, blood red, and/or blazing orange for red lenses, etc. How bout amber?
I have never tried that color before but as an experiment off the top of my head I would probably:
Base with a midtone brown mixed with a touch of orange or yellow.
Highlight by adding yellow to the mix
Final highlight mix in a touch of bone to the above mixture... maybe sand yellow
White dot for the reflection point.
Don't know the results but that is the area I would start with...

I would probably try to go for the color like you see some fossil amber.
Perhaps a light reddish brown for the base color, Highlighting with yellow/orange(mixture)
