This, like most of my conversions, is not an original idea -- look at the 40K Chaos pages at BlueTablePainting for the original. But it was sooooo cool that I had to make one myself...
Plus, the Chaos dreadnought is a 10yr old model, and hopefully that will be fixed soon. But until then, Let me introduce Venerable brother Bob, Banelord dreadnought of Chaos, destroyer of the Templar scouts, eater of Kroot, stomper of Gretchin, and singer of the ballad of "Abbadon and the 7 maidens"...
Wow, i'm at a loss for words...all I can say is... ahahahahahhhhaaaaaaahhahahaahhahaaa!
Awsome Idea! Even awesomer (is that a word?) title!
I love it, not only is it a cool idea, but a usful one. Also, it is a beautiful convesion, that would be awesome for epic!
-The God of all Machines
It has a Tau head on a pike. That's +10 points right there :p
Seriously, it is well-done. The only thing that detracts is the base.
RecklessFable's Journey to Mediocrity (Painting an IG army)
I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
For the base you could put the headless torsos (which can now be conviently located on his pike) in a pile under its feet. Or you could have a pool of blood somewhere on the base.

an exploded epic landraider, or perhaps an entire epic Word bearer mini army....
Haha, love it. It's cute!
Is the head a custom sculpt?
I must say, very nice painting, looks very realistic and shiny. Banner is some nice freehand (I assume) too.
I agree the base doesnt keep up the standards. First, IMO, get rid of the green - replace it with grey. Just looks more realistic IMO. Also, how about some rocks/mountains, or lava/magma, or both?

Nope - this model is 80% an old epic Banelord titan - however the model I got wasn't complete, so I made the right arm from a Talon of Horus (Abaddon's lightning claw/bolter thingy) and a Tyranid arm. The banner is from the Chaos beastmen pack, and most of the other bitz are off the Chaos vheicle sprue.
It turned out so good I want to do it again, but in a different color and with a different look.
I will modify the base on this guy - I have a IG sprue somewhere, or maybe a squished Ultramarine...
Yeah, looks awesome, mate
As for the base, something like a pool of blood would be a nice touch (like mentioned before). And static grass and some larger rocks bring more life to the base.
How is the scale - I have never seen the actual model that you used.
Is it comparable to the real Dread? Smaller/bigger?
I hope it is the same because I love the conversion itself!
