Hey all! What a great forum you've got here
I'm picking up WH40k again (haven't played since I was 16, some 5 years) and I'm starting out with a small Grey Knights army. I picked up some troops yesterday and managed to finish a Justicar and Grey Knight!
Please let me know what you think and how I can improve! I haven't painted minis for 5 years, but I'm happy with the results!
Also, a question:
Should I get some Citadel varnish and seal these guys? Should I use gloss or matte?
My two painted Knights:

Very nice! Keep painting your miniatures, your technique is fine, more practice will make things look even better!
recoat the areas with bright colors (red blue white) a few more times to brighten the color
drybrush the metal paint in several coats onto the figure instead of paint it on
Matte varnish would be best imo, but I wouldn't varrnish them at this point. You'll find as you paint the rest of your GK army, your technique will improve and you'll want to repaint earlier figures after you've finished the army.
They don't look too bad. keep painting!

Are you sure you haven't painted a mini in 5 years? They're quite a good start.
How to varnish depends on the results you want for the metallic paint. I am very happy with the results I've gotten following the Slorak-method (which you will find he has posted in every result for the search term 'varnish' in this forum! very prolific man) of 2 coats Krylon Crystal Clear and a coat or 2 of Testor's Dullcote. If you want that silver to stay silvery you may want to forgoe the Testor's
Yes for someone who hasn't painted for about 5 years these are very nice models...
Also the Supraboytt gives some very nice tips... Waiting to see more of your work! :w00t:
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
I've painted a third model and bought a Terminator with Psycannon to lead my men.
I might wait until they're all painted before I show more photos!
