General Colour scheme:
Thats all i've got so far, currently working on Shrike. Both these models are part of a normal Tactical Squad, the banner is there purely for show, a left over piece from when I made a jetpack command squad under the old Raven Guard rules before the new SM codex.
C&C welcome. cheers
the only gripe i have is the skin. try a layer of dwarf flesh, followed by a red-brown ink wash, followed by elf flesh highlights. right now it looks like he has zombie flesh. otherwise very good.
That is not dead which may eternal lie,
for in strange aeons even death may die.
Yes you have done a very nice job there... I would like to second though the proposal of the Kossolax_the_Foresworn about the skin...
I would like to comment the job you have done to the banner!
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
I like it, except the face. Yes, it looks like "zombie skin." Maybe some chestnut ink, or even a flesh wash?
I like the white. What did you use for an undercoat?
My white is done with a codex grey basecoat, highlighted with space wolves grey, then several layers of skull white.
In real life, the face doesn't look zombie-ish (I would know I've got 50 odd plague zombies :p), I guess its just the photo. I tried capturing a very pale look, as Raven Guard in fluff terms have very pale skin, and pitch black hair.
Personally I like the skin. Looks like Corax, who was supposedly very pale. However I don't like the model. The head looks like somebody stepped on the head then melted it. It's just blurg :x
Terrible picture taking skills
I love the face on the first guy, it looks very realistic and better than most faces I've seen in a long time. I have no idea where these guys get zombie skin from, its obvious from the guy's hair that he is a light skinned african american.
Paint job looks great, though. I'll trust that the face looks different IRL. Taking good pics of minis is harder than one thinks, I've discovered.
Hi I like the color scheme.
A few comments though, the white doesn't look to have depth. Its one of the hardest parts of painting white. While you DO have good defining lines, the individual parts look flat... except for the chest and leg eagles on the sargent. Perhaps a few washes with a really thinned down codex(?) grey would help you there.
Though what I'm commenting on could be due to the fact the pictures are just ever so slightly out of focus.
Hope this helps, keep up the good work.
