What conversions can i do with my Guard army as i only have the basic Cadian left overs and some SM bits of my teachers, i've already given one man a bolter and another has a double barreled lasgun, can anyone suggest anything else and i don't care how stupid it might sound, i'm up for some experimentation so let your minds go mad!!!

The most popular things to do in my book are too change weapon configurations to make them look like some moder weapon. For instance taking the barrel of a lasgon and putting a tube-like piece were the barrel normally inserts into the receiver then extending the barrel and putting it underneath the tube. On the muzzle tip adding a triangular "raised sight" and making the magazine look like a banana-clip. This makes it look like an AK-47.

    Here's a link: AK-47

An addition to this is all the various Russian and Czech deseign that look similar. A close friend of mine made some look like Dragonov sniper rifles and AKSU s.

    Another link: Dragunov

    And Another: AKSU

Also you can modify respirators and gas masks by using putty over the front of the face masks. Carapace armour is another good addition by using modeling putty to add plated sections to the legs and abdomen. Adding better looking web gear and such things, night vision goggles, rifle scopes, grenades, personal mods to each squad (skulls are great).

I thought about adding some tubing to the top of a chainsword and then adding a laspistol barrel to the end to make a las-sword.

    A multi-weapon for the guard.

Hey why not try to make guards men with double barreled muzzle loaded shotguns, that would sure make a "nice" look...

I cut the tip of the barrels off of my lasgun barrels flush with the tube underneath the barrel. I used them as shortbarreled pump shotgun for my Vet squads. and I used the ones with slings (from the Catachan sprue) on their backs.
