hi all im trying to think of ways to vary the rocks on a base for a dragon im painting at the moment and im thinking of employing moss as one way what would be the best way....i was thinking using the regular GW green flock but not sure that it would look convincing any suggestions?
See now you need to get some other flocks away from the GW crap.
Here is a link to a pommy art supply place (no, I do not know them, nor am I spruiking for them).
Here's the link: 4D modelshop - Product Information
As you can see, the range is a little larger than GW 3 varieties of flock.
Anyway, get to your local hobbiest and see what you can scrounge. You'll find it's probably cheaper than GW and you get more for your $
Diabolus fecit, ut id facerem!
I highly recommend anything from woodland scenics. If you mix some of their ground covers and turfs it gives a really natural effect. Be careful not to use to much turf though. You can even add it to the side of cliffs and rocks etc by flyspecking with a piece of paper and a light coat of their matte medium stuff. Let me know if you want to know how to do this.
