    Neccy Diorama *Black Lite*

    Hello,
First post on this site, was using another one, but, the bloggers there obviously don't appriciate Necrons.:w00t:

Check out this pic and tell me what you think.
(thinking of making SM a White scar *Spear w/ trophy topper*)
Also Green Flaming Skull is intended for SM head *torso will be drilled and LED*

It looks pretty good. Any chance of getting a picture of the scene with regular light?

Hey I never said anything about disliking the black light. It's creative, and I'm a suck to things that glow

    alright...... *inhale*........ *exhale*

before i start ranting like i sometimes do i will cut straight to the point and say that I prefer it in the blacklight it looks FRIKKIN AWESOME!

and now since you have caught my attention and i have (hopefully) cought yours how did you paint it so that it would glow in a blacklight, how did you "shape" the blast from the Necron's gun, pretty much how did you do it. so that i can :ninja:*cough*COPY*a-hem*:ninja: your sweet idea.

once again use the black light and this is awesome!

Geeze, thanx for the thunderous applause.
This was my first attempt at a larger piece of static caracter scenery (diaorama)

I learned alot of things that wont work :realmad:, and a few that do.:w00t:

    1. "How did you paint it so" it's blacklight reactive?
I have an extensive metalworking background, and have worked many places.
From one of these places I.... ....AQUIRED:ninja: a large bottle of "Invisible Ink".
    by Aero Brand Ink
    It's labeled "for stamping human hands" (Too bad, so sad, monkeys!){goofy}
It's consistancy is comprable to alcohol. I just dry-brushed it on the tops and
select faces of the rocks. (areas moonlight would reflect)
    *****NOTICE*****
The Sand is NOT Inked. (tried it, looked real crappy)

    2. "How did you shape the blast from the Necron's gun?"
Green Sprue, patience, and a Black&Decker (dual heat, multi-head)
    Soldering/woodburning Iron.

    Using the high heat setting and "heart shaped" leaf bit;
begin melting sprue. (hold S vertically, pressing WB down)
When you have a large "glob", press it to armiture while still hot.
    *****DANGER*****
This stuff HURTS!!! Trying to wipe it off after exposure only spreads the pain!

This will look like a polished turd in the beginning:cry:, but dont give up just yet.
With a decent sized blob, you should have covered about 1/2".
Wait for this to harden and cool. (This is an important part of this process)

You will definatly have more material in the area than desired,
so use the iron to thin and spread the green.
    ****AGAIN, LET IT COOL!****

Once you have covered the area to the desired thickness,
use point and sides to shape "ropes / muscles"

By the time you get this far, you will have a great start on understanding how
clear sprue is affected and effectivly shaped by heat.

    :huh:CLEAR AS MUD??

Remember: This is SEE-THRU, be creative with your armitures!
I used the Stamen from a fake Tigerlilly. Thanks for the 5 finger discount Balls-Mart:ninja:

The sprue can also be used in conjunction with GS to fabricate into clear parts,
    bitz you allready have.
(Flaming skull is from Inquisitor range Eisenhorn staff.)
