I am playing this list in a league, I might ditch the basilisk for Hardened Vets.
Close Order Drill
Track Guards (Leman Russ)
Improved Comms (Leman Russ)
Extra Armour (Leman Russ)
Troop 1: 5 Kasrkins, 1 Melta, 1 Grenade Launcher
Troop 2: 5 Kasrkins, 1 Melta, 1 Flamer
Heavy Support: Leman Russ. (Hull LC and Side HB's)
Basilisk with Indirect Fire.
Tell me what you guys think!
Try having all heavy bolters on your Leman russ tank so that you donb't waste any firepower if you want to target infantry. I would take the vets over the Basilisk as in such a small game the their isn't going to be very many targets outside of its range and you really need some numbers in small point games. Lose it and try to get a platoon of guardsmen. The ungrades on your Leman are useless most of the time anyway so put those points into some more bodys.
"Hey sarge, this lasgun is heavy. I wish we had something lighter."
FF7: ABOUT RANDOM BATTLES
Right, do this:
p.s. why do i not see a HQ choice?
- Change weapons of the GRENADIERS from melta guns, flamers, and grenade launchers to 2 plasma guns per squad.
- Take off all the useless upgrades and the basalisk, with the points, buy another kasrkin squad, perhaps with a powersword on vet. sgt. for all 3 squads to give some close combat potential perhaps?
- With the points, spend some money on a Sentinel or two.
Are the force organization requirements in effect? If so you need an HQ for a standard force organization. Also why are you taking the drop troops doctrine? It is not usable by any of your squads since grenadiers are not guard infantry units. The big drawback of grenadiers is that they are not nearly as mobile as elite selection stormtroopers. Grenadiers are denied the ability to infiltrate or deep strike, the only mobility option left to them is a chimera. For a 500 point list I would look at taking 2 full squads of grenadiers with two plasma guns in each squad, and a Vet. Sgt. with power weapon. A lightly tooled up junior officer, and maybe some cheap sentinels for heavy weapon support. I wouldn't try to keep two ordinance chuckers in such a small list.
What do you call a lasgun with a laser sight?
