G'day, I have posted my 750pt army so you guys with experience can tear it to peices and i can hopefully learn some things out of it, i have tried many combinations but not much seem too work for me, it may possibly be how i play or just my army, can someone please give me some tips.
Senior Officer. Meltagun. Standard Bearer.
Junior officer with heavy bolter.
Infantry squad with flamer.
infantry squad with Missile launcher.
Storm troopers with flamer and meltagun.
Ratling squad (6 fellas)
Hardened VETS with Lascannon
Hardened VETS with missile launcher
Leman Russ with Lascannon and Heavy bolters.
Okay so far seems a bit to elite I would drop the Ratlings and vet squads honestly and go with more Platoons and maybe a nother Leman.
Anyway second option drop the ratling snipers and get more guardsmen are something "quantity is its own Quality" Josef Stalin.
third option this is more of a 1000 pts idea but its what I do and works great. 2 lemans with lascannons, Commander with power fist carapace armor a 5+ invuln save wargear forget what it is called Master Vox btw he is Heroic Senior Officer, and finally as many IG as you can fit in the list. In a table quarters game have guardsmen march forward under covering fire from Lemans oh and all squads have a vox.
Anyway point is I think you are just a bit too elite in your configuration
Moved to IG army lists.

First off do you have 4 meltas in the command squad or 1? in either case id drop it, it is unlikely that they are gona footslog their way to a tank, and since you have the standard in their you probably should keep the squad in cover
same idea with the platoon officer you could give him an honorifica imperialis and keep him close to your commanding officer. then keep both the officers behind a static line of troops this will make your leadership bubble harder to kill, and rerolling failed leadership tests of 10 is pretty nice.
"Thank him who puts me loath to this revenge on you who wrong me not for him who wrongd"
First I'd drop the Melta off of the command squad and give the Officer a power weapon to defend himself. Also maybe add a Plasma gun or 2?
Platoon HQ- Again give the JO a power sword, drop the h-bolter and load up on Plasma for a good time! haha
Inf Squads- In my opinion h-bolters or ACs are the best heavy weapons for your line squads so i'd maybe add them in. Also add/switch your special weapons to maybe either Grenade launchers or Plasmas. Throw a Vet sgt in there too to give em a little more staying power.
Grenadiers? I'm assuming you took the doc which in that case I say take Close ORder Drill and Iron Discipline as well. As for the load out of the Grenadiers I'd toss them 2 Plasma Guns. (in case you didnt notice, I firmly believe Plasma is a guardsmens worse/best friend8Y)
I'd consider dropping the Ratlings, but they could serve a purpose since they will either take fire or actually pin/kill some stuff!
The vets look good. I'd Give em both M-launchers and maybe some Plasma?
Lastly I'd drop the Russ altogether since its a little much for a 750 pt game. I'd spend its points on maybe a hellhound? They kick a lotta ass in low point games! But if you insist on keeping the Russ I'd strongly suggest dropping the hull LC and going with 3 H-bolters. If you lose the BC, the LC only has a 50/50 chance of hitting, but 3 H-bolters on an AV 14 vehicle is a nasty inf killer.
Hope this all helps!
