    Revamped Sisters: 1500 pts Competitve

I decided to revamp my Sisters!

I used to have one unit of 6 Dominions in an immolator with three meltaguns, but I've decided to replace them with a Palatine Celestian retinue. So I've got six power weapon attacks in the squad including the ability to take out tanks.

I've lost a meltagun, but I've gained a troop choice who'll survive better in combat, because the 6 dominions, even with their veteran, always got swamped. I can easily make the Celestians initiative 6, which I've found pretty effective with the power weapon attacks and the hitting on 3+.

Do you think that immolators are worth it? People say that numbers is important to which I'd agree, but it's useless unless you have specialist support. I've been Biel-tan armies with like 40 models wipe out horde armies.

Would you say this was competitive? Any changes or things I've missed?

    i like this list
for 1500 pts it doesn't sound bad
but you don't seem to have anything to take care of really big stuff in cc
like monsteres creatchers (miss spelled) or dreds

I like the basic form of your list. I definitely agree, the extra celestrian squad is superior to the dominians. Here a few recommendations.

    - Never take Palentines! For only 10 points more you get: 1 extra faith, 1 extra wound, 1 extra attack, and 1 extra leadership. It would easily be worth it just for the extra faith, nevermind the rest!

    - Add a Book of Saint Lucius to at least a couple of your characters. The ability take unmodified ld checks is tremendous. It allows your often outnumbered army to use a small squad to hold up large sections of the enemy.

    - You don't need power weapons in all your units. Str3 power weapons only do so much and those points could be better used to upgrade palentines to Canonesses or to get a couple of Books for the army. If you reall want to have an impact in close combat get an Eviscerator for a key squad.

    - The immolators are probably not ideal. They stand out amongst your rhinos but are no more difficult to hurt. Any result at all renders their shooting useless (either they're stunned/shaken, destroyed, have their only gun destroyed, or immobilized and thus out of range to use their flamers!). So, your opponent will be shooting them first and probably reducing them to expensive rhinos. You may want to trade them in for rhinos and using the points saved for more bodies or some key upgrades.

    - Consider Heavy Flamers. They do cost a few extra points but the are vastly superior to a flamer. Obviously the strength is better but the ap4 can be the difference between hurting a nasty squad of genestealers or banshees and completely wiping them out.

    Thanks for the advice!

I think I'll drop the immolators and get some Books for my squad leaders. I don't really have enough points to do much upgrading, as the army is already incredibly small. I think I might get rid of the power weapons on the two sister squads and use them to buy more Celestians, as I'm really scared of being outnumbered!

I like the immolators; twin linked heavy flammage is always good, and your two exorcists will probably take the heat off of them. The only thing I would say though is to swap the MG's and the Flamers between the sisters and the Celestians in order to take advantage of the fire points that the Rhino has, and plus it will be more dramatic when you cruise up and drop 3 flame templates on whatever!

I totally concur with the point about s3 power weapons...very saddening; points better spent. Also with the point about the Palatine.

I also concur with the point about being vulnerable to CC monsters. I would (man I say this all the time, I'm so lame!) put Inferno pistols in the hands of at least one of those seraphim squads, and I would mix in some eviscerators, probably with the 'phim, as they can bail out and head where needed...quickly too.

I would drop the power weapons and maybe cut the seraphim squad sizes down a bit, and then add some eviscerators (maybe a blessed weapon in there?), upgrade to a Canoness, and IMO, add some IP's on the Seraphim.

This looks like a really good list though overall; well done!

Yeah points are off on the two troop squads. Also something to consider with the celestians, with only 7 models in the unit AoF are going to be a little tougher getting off than a full 10 model strong SoB squad. I would get rid of the upgrades on the VSS and make the celestians regular SoB and bump their numbers. Something along the lines of:

    HQ
Canoness: Eviscerator, jump pack, bolt pistol, krak grenades and Book of St Lucius:: 98

    TROOPS
10 Battle Sisters: Meltagun, veteran with CCW, bolt pisto and Book of St Lucius: l: 197
    Rhino: Smokes, extra armour

10 Battle Sisters: Meltagun, veteran with CCW, bolt pistol and Book of St Lucius: 197
    Rhino: Smokes, extra armour

10 Battle Sisters: 2 Flamers, veteran with CCW and bolt pistol: 194
    Rhino: Smokes, extra armour

10 Battle Sisters: 2 Flamers, veteran with CCW and bolt pistol: 194
    Rhino: Smokes, extra armour

    FAST ATTACK
    7 Seraphim: 2 Flamers: 168

    7 Seraphim: 2 Flamers, veteran: 178

    HEAVY
    Exorcist: 135

    Exorcist: 135

    TOTAL: 1496 TANKS: 6

    INFANTRY: 55 FAITH POINTS: 8

For the most part your new list with a few minor changes. Bodies for DG instead of upgrades on the VSS. Books can go on either troop squad, might be better to add them to the flamer squads because with the flamers they will more likely be in a position to get assualted.

Granted I have yet to play a game with my sisters, so keep that in mind if you consider my advice.

Also might consider dropping the Seraphim VSS and getting some heavy flamers into the SoB squads. Wanted to go off your list as much as possible, wasnt sure if you had the models or not to make drastic changes.
