    fancying idea 2000pt dark angles.

    well, I've been wanting to take a break from choas and play the good guys for a while. first i tried making a daemon hunters list, but i found it too tactically limiting. so heres my stab at DA.

    2000pts dark angels successor chapter

    Chaplain w/ jump pack 120pts

    Chaplain w/ jump pack 120pts

    Scout squad = 195pts
    5 scouts w/ sniper riffles
    5 scouts w/ sniper riffles

    Scout squad = 195pts
    5 scouts w/ sniper riffles

    Tactical squad = 210pts
    10 marines
    laser cannon
    sergeant w/ power fist

    Tactical squad = 210pts
    10 marines

    sergeant w/ power fist

    Tactical squad = 210pts
    10 marines

    tactical squad = 210pts

    Question: should i drop something in favor of giving my tactical marines rhinos: reason if things go badly for the assault marines i can send in the reserves(marines) to aid them at a closer range.

    Your list lacks variaty. I would suggest taking away one of everything and making use of the dark angels codex. So have a squad of deathwing termies and a squad of ravenwing bikers. I think you should give your tactical squads razorbacks and use the combat squads rule to split the squad up and mount half of them with the special weopon and vet sarg in the razorback and leave the half with the heavy weopon to stay back and shoot.

    After all the razorback is the same price as a normal sm codex rhino in the new DA codex.

    This looks fine, although I would maybe have one as a support group. (i.e. make one have bolters, shottys, or BP/CCW to support the snipers.

    These are okay. Wiould suggest taking some sort of transport though. If you are going to Combat squad them I would also recommend purchasing a PG as well.

    Acutally, maybe take one Tac out so that you can add maybe a vehicle, since you already have a massive amount of troops in your army. (Transports?)

    I really don't like Ass squads for DA since they are expensive IMO. Plus, they are pretty much pure Anti-troop, so that doesn't give much flexibility in what they can effectively attack. Nice Sargeant set-up though.

    Those are a few suggestions from me. This is a pretty nice list. I would probably drop one Tac as I said and put some Transports for your Tacs.

    yeah maybe normal marines would be better, i just happen to have a copy of the DA codex and not the regular one. i kind of dig the combat squad option though...

    i don't trust using deathwing termies in a non apocalypse army as reserves are to unpredictable and unruly, making it an unecessary risk. maybe some bikers though. maybe i'll use some transports.
