ok ive posted my modified army list note its not modified hugely but ive been considering using an eversor over a callidus to eliminate a threat early on rather than at the end of the game when the callidus comes on as reserve. also the eversor can take out tougher oppoents with its neuro gauntlents which is basically the objective of my assassin - to take out strong pockets which use barrage or command squads which add leadership etc
also for games where i wish to seperate my Grandmaster from the retinue i.e. dropping behind enemy lines for a few carnifexs i need an extra elites place so i thought inquisitor lord is the option but should how should i go about building i.e. a closecombatant?
Also i thought if im going to keep the callidus i will need auspex somewhere to take more advantage of the rule
note if i come against i heavy vehicle army i can use ambush tatics i.e. avoid fire till the point where the enemy has to move closer
I dislike the Holy Relic because it is so very expensive, and the range of effect never seems large enough.
Melta bombs are not legal kit for any model in TDA. You can only equip items from the armoury marked with an asterisk. Not bad. You'll get even better performance if you can squeeze in even one more DCA. There are definitely points to be scrounged in this list.Originally Posted by image vertification suxDrop all the kit save the psycannon. He's an independent character, and can't be targeted at range at all unless you're sloppy with him. If he gets charged, let him die anyway. He's not worth saving. Spending points to protect him is wasteful. Those are points that could go for more GKs! Similarly, melta bombs would be a mistake. You don't want this guy to get close to anything. Just let him rip apart the enemy from range with psycannon dakka. Keep him cheap.Originally Posted by image vertification suxI would either exchange a GK for a 2nd psycannon in this squad for static fire support, or I'd exchange the one psycannon you do have for another GK model and let them be a mobile threat. As fire support, one psycannon is too thin, and for a mobile squad, the psycannon can't keep pace with the majority stormbolters in range. Furthermore, in your inevitable assaults, you're being dragged down by a wildly expensive but otherwise normal space marine, when in his place, you could have had two full-strength GKs. Those additional wounds, stormbolter shots, and high-strength melee attacks are going to be more useful than the lame-o wielding a heavy bolter equivalent.Originally Posted by image vertification suxExcellent. Squeeze out those points for smoke, and it's be picture perfect.Originally Posted by image vertification suxA bit unorthodox. I presume you intended for the GKT HQ to take a ride in the LRC? Not a good idea. Doing so concentrates nearly half the points and effectiveness of your list into just one, single, basket. At 1500 pts, every army has plenty of anti-armour solutions, and they will all point at the LRC and pop it right quick, dealing you a severe blow and them a hefty VP present. If you're going to run with even one land raider, take two so that you can dissipate that heavy firepower coming your way. Also, I wouldn't pack in your most expensive models. If anybody gets a ride, it ought to be smallish infantry squads, like 5-6 PAGKs with an incinerator, so that, if they get exploded, it won't destroy your list or army's effectiveness. Your GKTs should either hoof it or deep strike.Originally Posted by image vertification sux
If you're not going to take at least a pair of land raiders, I'd replace it with a pair of dreadnoughts.
Speaking of which, your dread is a little mixed up. With the TLLC, he should really have the ML for his left arm. At distance, the DCCW would go to waste. But on the approach to mix it up with the DCCW, the TLLC proves to be a terrible assault weapon. That's a role much better suited to the aptly-named assault cannon. Go either TLLC/ML or AC/DCCW every time.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.
