Hey guys, I'm tryin to get into the swing of things and make a few lists. My friends play chaos marines and imperial guard, and I've been trying to come up with a couple good lists that are affordable both point wise and on my wallet.(Gogo college) I know that grey knights are extremely expensive, and have a large lack of anti-armor, so I tried to compensate this with the dread's(i've heard they're good in pairs) and the stormtroopers. Any advice to alter or stuff like that would be a ton of help.
5 stormtroopers + 2x meltagun
Rhino w/ extra armour and smoke launchers
5 stormtroopers + 2x plasma gun.
Chimera w/ multilaser and heavy bolter
Grey knight Squad
10 Grey Knights
Grey Knight Justicar
In this list, my dread's sit back and barrage as much armor as they can. If they don't have a target, they frag infantry, cause mass havoc, ect ect.
My rhino stormtrooper squad hunts down any pressing armor on my troops.
The chimera takes my BC and the other IQ squad and sets up a firebase, where my grey knights teleport in and start attacking the front lines.
To go to 1250, I make an addition to my HQ by adding a retinue and deepstrike the team
In this bit I deepstrike my HQ as well as my grey knights, the HQ setting up a firebase while the knights press or open fire as needed.
I think both of your lists are really quite nice. 8Y Personally, I would sacrifice a GK to get 6 ISTs into each of your squads, for scoring unit purposes, but that's a very minor quibble.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.
