hey, i just started 40k, and this is my first army list.
10 men tactical squad
10 men tactical squad
total: 425 points
does anyone knows what i can getfor 75 points? all comment is welcom!!!
You can get a captin with a power weapon and bolt pistol for 76pts.
The best place to buy warhammer: Miniatures2u
Well, the super cheap captain is more a preference than anything, and only give 9 leadership anyway so I think the master is fine, although I would give him a bolt pistol instead of a storm bolter for the extra attack in CC.
For 75 points you can put terminator honors on the master (giving him ANOTHER extra attack) and then give the sergeants of your tactical squads terminator honors and powerfists.
That's just one option.
You will have anti tank problems with this list but you don't usual see a lot armor in such small point games anyway. You may want to fit in a las cannon just in case... maybe...
sense this is a starter list you should be ok tho. Just hope your more experienced friends aren't mean enough to put in anything av 14.
75 points could also give a 5 man scout squad with a missile launcher (no sniper rifles) plus it will boost your model count which is always a plus in small point games. I'm guessing you probably only have one power fist bit that came with the Space Marine Commander Box so this option might be more viable, Only problem with the plastic scouts is the non-sniper scout box is that it doesn't come with a missile launcher, it comes with a heavy bolter, but if the shop where you buy warhammer 40k might have a metal blister of a scout with missile launcher so you could try that. The missile launcher would be a nice addition to this list too.
75 points could also get you more Marines as well, if you want some more bodies, but don't want scouts. You could add another Marine and have three Tactical Squads of 7 Marines. This can let you fire on more enemy squads in a single turn and can help you get some more "heavier" weapons the table, such as a third heavy bolter or something to that extent.
Tell me if im wrong. In 500 matches u can still have like transports and a whirlwind yes?
If u take away something here and there u may be able to proxy something as a razorback. With the twin Linked lascannons it would at least eliminate the chance as another type of vehicle comin in and givin the "buisness".
Plus that comes with a storm bolter which u can take away from ur commander (give him a bolt pistol). and u can trasnport ur troops somewhat around the battlefield.
or as another option take away a little more and u have a full artillrey ( Whirlwind). stick it in the back of the map and just rain down the blast markers of goodness.;Y
Thank you all!!! with all your comment i think this gonna be my new army list:
HQ captain 60
bolt pistol 1
power weapon 15
TROOPS 10 tactical squad 150
plasma gun 10
heavy bolter 5
10 tactical squad 150
plasma gun 10
heavy bolter 5
5 tactical squad 75
i don't know exectaly how much points, but it's about 490 or something. anyway, can i put my captain in the same unit as the 5 man squad ? if i could do that, then my caiptain has some ''bodyguards'' wich are good in close combat because of the flamer and the weapons of the sergant. i hope u know what i mean and can help me with this!
yes, the captain is an independent character so he can join any unit he wants.
Alternatively you could make one of those squads a command squad for the captain instead. It wont change your points at all.
Also, the forum rules say that you shouldn't post the point costs for wargear and weapons and things like that for copy right reasons. Anyone with any advice worth giving should have a copy of the codex anyway.
Plasma guns and heavy bolters in a 10 man squad isn't advisable. The reason is ive played this combination and it does not work since the heavy bolter cant fire if you move which can be awkward while getting objectives take 1 or another. Just my thoughts but i bet some1 here could prove me wrong.
where is the Dreadnought???!!!!!!!!! oh, wait, youre making a 500pts army. Also, change the captain into a master (they might be the same thing, i dont play SM) Here is a starter list approved by GW:
HQ: Space Marine Master: Equipped with Power weapon, bolt pistol, and Rites of Battle: 91 points
Elite: Dreadnought: Equipped with: Storm Bolter, Power Fist, Assault Cannon, Vernerable: 125 points
Troops: Tactical Squad, 9 marines, one sargent, Equipped with: bolters, one heavy bolter, one flamer: 161
Troops: Tactical Squad: 9 marines, one sargent, equipped with bolters, one meltagun, one missile launcher: 170
Total Points: 547
i suggest in tactical squad two to get another melta instead of missile launcher.
Why would you put a heavy botler in a squad with a flamer? The HB only works if you don't move, while the flamer only works at close range.
The second squad is bad too, since the same concept applies to the metalgun + missile launcher combo.
It just doesn't seem to make sense to have a long range weapon that only works if you don't move, and have a weapon that is meant for close range in that same squad.
