I am looking at changing the hardened fighters doctrine and maybe the carapace armour doctrine.
I want to change Hardened Fighters because I vs. SM a lot and it does nothing (I die before i can hit back. Damn librarians!) and the carapace armour is very helpful but a tad bit expensive...
With the points saved, I am probably looking at adding another Autocannon armed Sentinel or veteran/grenadier squad.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

- fill out your HQ platoon with support squads; namely those 2 anti-tank squads! rocket launchers are better than lascannon as they're truely multi-purpose. once the tanks are gone, they can still pop marines just well as a lascannon can but for fewer pts!
a mortar squad can be fun for pure annoyance value!
definately look into 2 special weapon teams. landing right next to some termies and then lobbing an ap2 pie-plate at them will make any smurf player balk!
- you need more infantry!!! my own 1500pts drop list i use for tournaments has over 100 models and that's including an allied daemonhunter inquisitor lord & culexus assassin!!!
you currently have only 61 infantry, 3 sentinels & 1 tank... if you're playing guard and you're not out-numbering marines, then you've done something very, very wrong!
remember, WE'RE NOT MARINES! don't try to 'mini-marine' by taking those expensive doctrines to up your base stats... more basic guardsmen will solve ANY! problem.
- specialise your units. don't try to generalise - that's what the marines do. WE'RE NOT MARINES! pick 1 role for each squad and pick your upgrades to fullfill it. for example, our infantry are designed purely to kill enemy infantry, thus take heavy bolters. (autocannons can again be better grouped into anti-infantry support squads and pick on transports & skimmers!)
hardened vets conversely are great for killing expensive stuff like marines by loading them out with plasam guns, or else min/maxing them with meltaguns for cheap, anti-tank ability. (which of corse can deep strike anywhere!)
hope this helps!
