My battle plan for this armylist is quite flexible as in i have got a enought firepower to defeat hordes since the marines in the command squad have bolters and the dreadnought with the assult cannon and heavy flamer. The apothicarry is in the command squad so when i rapid fire they can save the plasma model if they overheat. And finaly the melta-gun is to deal with independant characters and an odd vehicle. Anyway just post on what you think any post is welcome:happy:
Command marines x6
Serg w term.h and pw =160
plasma gun x2
heavy flamer =145
Space marines x6 =100
Space marines x6 =95

You don't need a whole command squad for a 500 point game and it requires a chaplain, librarian or commander anyways. A chaplain leading a tac or assault squad would probably be better.
I like dreadnoughts at this point level since they are just big whirly killy machines that are tough in close combat.
Add a missile launcher to a tac squad for more anti armor since relying on just a powerfist and meltagun is not really enough. Also remember that even though you may field a model heavy marine army it is still outnumbered by most others. Maybe a heavy bolter tossed in too would help with that mentality.
by the way a command squad does not need a hq choice to go with it and i wont encounter much tanks in 500 pnts so 2 plasma guns and a melt-gun is fine i think personaly. Also dont forget the assult cannon which is awsome for armour with str 6 4 shots RENDING. Ive updated my list since some of the points were just not right and added a heavy bolter.
