If you plan on deepstriking the entire army, you will only have 1 squad deepstriking on the first turn. That squad is gunna get eaten up. This is gunna always be a problem with every DW list. Alot of people, including myself use odd termie squads. As you can ds half rounded up.

I dont like putting a lascannon on the dread in 1k lists, as there isnt alot of av14. Aswell your list already has 8 powerfists on the board. That will cover your AT needs. You also waste the range of a lascannon by deepstriking it in. on the contrary this could be used as a way to get a free rear shot off at a vehicle. So if you like it there leave it, but I would scrap it for another Assualt Cannon.

Overall i think it could use some tweaking, but it work if you wanted it to. Just remember no matter how godly your deathwing list is. It will always be an "all or nothing" list and thats just the way we like it.

Hmh.. was not fussed on deapstriking that much... probably not best as a single squad will get ripped as you say.

Perhaps it might be best to drop the drop pod, maybe loose the chaplain too, and ad some landspeeders/ bikes or another termie squad?

I would drop the chaplain, and the drop pod. Its only worth it if everything ds's. If you can find the points definatly try to get another termie squad in there. maybe a mix of thunderhammers and lightning claws, for belial to go with.

IMHO when you really want to make a deathwing list you should take as many termi squads as possible. So in a 1000 pts. battle, you can have up to 3x5 termis with assault cannon in each squad plus belial. That's about 865 pts. so you have 135 points left.

When you have 3 squads it's a good idea to deep strike them all. This way two of them will come in the first round, and 10 termis + belial in your enemy deployment zone is something to worry about.

The left over points would be best used for a unit of three bikes. They are easy to hide which is very important if you deep strike the rest, couse they will be your only models on the table. Then they have the scout move, and they can help your termis to deep strike where you want them. You can give them some special weapons if you want to.

Bikes would help on the ds'ing. But on the same note, it wouldnt lend to it being a true DW army. Grant it, bikes would honestly help, but you have to make sure that they live for it to work properly. Then from that point, its guts or glory. I have 3k points of DA's, and have been tryin to fine tune that same balance for a while now. I'd really have to say, it just depends on what you have to face against. I would not suggest playin an eldar or dark eldar player with that setup. you'll lose by turn 2-3, cause of numbers.
Is your dread there for AT? if so, you could look into dropping him and maybe the chaplain for bikes, and potentially another squad of termies.
