    1,500 Blood Angels

Well, not really blood angels, more so my Black Dragons.
Trying to make them 5th ed. compatible, and as the next Marine codex is in the pipeline and seems to be quite up in the air as to what level of customisation will remain, I figured I'd try and work them into BA form.

Anyway, the list is intended to be fairly competative, but not cheese on a stick.

    HQ:

    Chaplain Lemartes

    Elites:

    Death Company:
8 Death Company with Jump Packs

    Scouts:
    5 Scouts, with Missile Launcher

    Troops:

    Tactical Squad:
10 Marines, Power Weapon, Meltagun, Heavy Bolter

    Tactical Squad:
10 Marines, Power Weapon, Meltagun, Heavy Bolter

    Tactical Squad:
10 Marines, Power Fist, Plasma gun, Missile Launcher

    Fast Attack:

    Land Speeder with Multi Melta

    Land Speeder with Multi Melta

    Heavy Support:

    Devastator Squad:
    10 Marines, 2 Heavy Bolters, 2 Lascannons

    Total: 1,495pts

All in all, I'm fairly happy with it.
It seems a little small for my 'codex-trained' eyes, what with everything being a little more expensive, but I know full well how much harder the DC are than regular Assault Marines, and even with rending shunted onto the to-wound roll, I think the ammount of attacks (plus Lemartes) will help make dents in the enemy.

Otherwise it conforms to my standard 'balance' theory, which works even better with combat squads IMO.
Split them up at deployment, but put them down in the same place (as if they were one squad), and sit back firing. When the enemy draws up close, run the sergeant forward and charge!
    Works out pretty well.

Anyway, thoughts, oh mighty Blood Angel generals?

not excactly a "general" but let's see what I can do to help...

    Lemartes: Fine

Death Company: Be nice to maximize them, but it's still good

Scouts: Meh. Don't use them but still good.

    Tactical Squads: Interesting. I like

Land Speeder: Fine, I prefere Attack Bikes, but Land Speeders are good too.

Devesators: Well normall I'd say " drop them for Baal Preds" but they've been jinxed from 5th ed . I wouldn't take Lascannons and heavy bolters in the same squad. maybe all heavy bolters? ( you got a bit of Anti-Tank there already )

That's all I can think of. Have fun

I am not a fan of dual hatted devastator squads. Having laz and heavy bolters in the same squad seems rather a waste. Why not swap out the heavy bolters in the tac squads for lazcannons?

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.

Well, the main reason they are there is 'cos my listreally does need more hard-core anti-tank, what with 5th ed being round the corner and tanks getting much harder.
With that in mind, I'm just not happy sticking soley with melta-guns and multi-meltas, as som very hard tanks are able to ignore them (ok, I'm mainly thinking of the Monolith here).

Plus, if it lets me control an area of battlefield so that my enemy doesn't want to drive tanks into their LOS, then all to the good.

Also, remember that this is BA, so I'll be splitting into combat squads.
Essentially, it's two 5-man Devastator squads, one with 2 HBs and one with 2 Las's...
