    I'm not really happy with the redractor shield for my HQ but I had 15 points to spare and didn't really know what else to spend it on...

    Close combat is a lot more dangerous than before. Also, you should read the 5th Edition FAQ for Imperial Guard--the Commissar took quite a hit. Specifically, if you unit fails morale the the Commissar executes one and the squad then takes the extra casualties for being fearless. Wound allocation makes him vulnerable, too; he isn't buried in the squad as well as he used to be. You could try the Independent Commissar doctrine and drop their power weapons; it would be fluffy and help hold the line against shooting but I don't think that is what you are going for.

    Can the Commissar join the storm troopers without nullifying their infiltration/deep strike? I don't think so, but you could check.

    With 5th Ed.'s focus on taking objectives, you could do with more mobility in your list but I'm not sure what would work. Maybe a Chimera or two if you have them. The Ratlings could be dropped to help make room--a minimal squad isn't going to do much.

    Seems a fairly solid list, I'd just take issue with you using Sharspshooters.

    Firstly, giving it to your Storm Troopers and Hardened Veterans is useless, and against the rules. It only affects BS3 models, and can only be given to a unit with at least 1 BS3 model.

    Secondly, I wouldn't give it to your basic squads either, but that's just a personal preference. Math-hammer wise, it's better to save the points and take a remnants squad, although you can't take a Heavy Weapon, it a) gets more bodies on the table, so Lancaster Square principle comes into effect (that 2 identical units are 4x as effective as 1 unit, as you have to destory twice as much to negate the effect, as well as giving out twice as much firepower), and Sharpshooters don't allow you to re-roll plasma shots, whereas buying another plasmagun with the extra points gives you more shots.
