    Ok I found out today at mu GW that infantry squads only count as 1 troops choice. And after 10 minuts of bashing my head against the wall I decided to add coscripts as they were cheep.

    I might be wrong, check this, but I don't think you can give the conscripts cameoline. Another thing, that I might be wrong about check this too, if you take cameoline, I think you have to give it to everybody, including your mortars. I don't think you can give them a surveyor either. They have no vet serg or officer that could have one. I would bring a special weapon in all of my infantry squads. The grenade launcher and the plasma are my favorite because of the range.

    Be careful loading up on doctrines. You don't want your squads to cost more than they are worth. 10 super cool really expensive guardsmen still have toughness 3.

    I've never played with conscripts but if I did I would give them flamethrowers and march them right into something nasty. The flamer isn't affected by their low ballistic skill and they are just as hard to kill as normal guardsmen but they are cheaper so it's more guys tieing up a carnifex or wraithlord or whatever. I wish I could remember the post, I'll look for it, but a guy said he painted all of his conscripts in prison orange because the bright color tends to draw fire and made them more of a bullet magnet. I hope I repped him. I wouldn't waste heavy bolters on conscripts. It's a shame you can't give them mortars. They would be perfect.

    Anyway, don't get to discouraged (bang your head) being new to the guard. The guard organization can be a little more complicated than other armies.

    Consider dropping a doctrine or two and bringing special weapons in your squads and some vehicles to support them. If you really want an all infantry army, spend the points on heavy support choices to go with your hq. Just my 2 cents.

    a Conscript squad works differently then a troop platoon. for a single trooop choice you only need 1 squad of conscripts.
    Right now you have 3 troop choice selections, (i dont think you can have 2 conscript platoons with only 1 troop platoon) so your list MAY be illegal (double check that before you believe it)

    It would be better to move both 10 man conscript squad together to give you a larger tarpit in battle.

    Noy the conscript units are part of the same conscript platoon, I just split them up to make it more understandable to look at, or somthing of the sort.
    Bummer about not being able to give morters surveyor. Would have been cool to have infultrating units being pinned on the first turn.
