    2k Meat Shield

I got this list from another board, and with the writer's permission put it here. I wanted to know what you esteemed gentlemen thought of it, as I tend to hold the veiws of those on this board above any others.

"Couldn't help myself in this. Was challenged to a 2K game and decided to go with an assault army. While doing so I found that it isn't much different than a 1500 point list due to the doctrine points I had to spend.

    Doctrine:
    Conscripts
    Independent Commissar
    Sharp Shooter
    Special Equip Chem Inhaler
    Special Equip Warrior weapons

    HSO - Plasma Pistol/ccw
    Medic - Plasma pistol/ccw
    Standard Bearer- Regimental Standard/Plasma Pistol/ccw
(rest of squad is las pistol/ccw)
    Chem Inhalers

    Sentinel w/ Flamer
    Fire Support - Auto Cannon(3)
    Chem inhaler/ Warrior Weapon
Fire Support - Heavy Bolter (3)
    Chem Inhaler/ Warrior Weapon
    Anti-Tank - Las cannon (3)
    Chem Inhaler/ Warrior weapon

    Independent Commissar
    Chem Inhaler

    JSO w/ 4 Vets - Las pistol/ccw
    Chem Inhaler

    Infantry Platoon (4 Squads)
each squad laspistol ccw/ Grenade Launcher
    Chem inhaler / Warrior weapon

    50 Conscripts 5 flamers
    Chem inhalers/ warrior weapons

    2 Hell hounds
    2 Basilisk w/ indirect Fire
1 LR Lascannon Hull mount/ side sponsons Heavy Bolter
    Extra armor
    Camo Netting
    Search light
    Rough terrain modification

In all I HAD to spend the 348 points on chem inhalers for all and the warrior weapons for each unit. Which basically brought me down to a 1632 point list for this. Was surprised that the tar pit was 100 points more than it normally would have been with the warrior weapons, but for the additional attack that they will get I can see that it will be well worth the points."

I though it was funny. Any thoughts?

    Victory is achieved through mettle.
    Glory is acheived through metal.

Normally I wouldn't advise spending that many points on doctrines. If you are trying to play a really fluffy list then I guess thats great. I don't have any experience with chem inhalers or conscripts. I'm interested to hear how it works out for you. Have you played with this list at all yet or are you just considering building it?

i thought you could not put doctrine benefits (warrior weapons and chem inhalers) on conscripts. i may be mistaken but i believe the book does not classify conscripts as imperial guard infantry units, so you could not use them.

    YEah conscripts cant take those.

But ask the opponent if he'll let you play them anwyay. For Fun. Skirt the rules a bit.

Cuz that list is ROFL. Id love to see it in action only for the look on your opponents face as conscripts charge fearlessly into khorne bezerkers.

I hope however, that you do realize this list, in terms of gameplay, is utterly useless, but obviously its meant for fun so carry on. Send us a battle report with photos.

This is incorrect, if you read the entry for both Chem-inhalers and Warrior Weapons, neither are restricted to Guard Infantry units (as defined on page 55 of the codex), so it is perfectly legal to take both on a unit of Conscripts. In fact, if you take these Doctrines, you must give them to the Conscripts, as per the rules of special equipment.
