I want to field my own version of the water warrior army, but after all the comments on 5th edition is a water warrior army stil viable? (those that dnt know water warrior is a 2*LR army)
With the new rules isnt the orbital lance strike a cheap way of denying your opponent that objective that he almost always places close to his deployment zone in terrain?
Does shrouding effect dreads 2?
I have posted some of these questions in my amry lists posts and on other websites with only 1 reply, so if these are dum questions please just tell me so i can start a new list.

Q1: Land raiders are a bit of a points sink and with our srandard marines being 25 points per man grey knights suffer from points sinks more than others. Two land raiders are even more of a strain on your resources. Since our standard marines are armed with storm bolters they can footslog and keep firing at all ranges so do not need transports to be effective.
If you take landraiders, use them for their armour and firepower at range tather than used as the mother of all battle taxis. Transports delivering passengers into assaults come into meltagun range and can be charged by monsterous creatures, chain fists or dreads.
Q2: Lance strikes are an exellent way of denying an objective. The melta strike too can be fun as your own terminators can walk onto an objective and still get their save. Looking at the WH FAQ the innacuracy rule seems to have been replaced with the 5th edition indirect fire rules with a 2D6-0 deviation but a hit is a hit on the scatter die.

Thank you so much for replying I was starting to give up hope. This really clears up a lot of things. I've got 3 lists ready, a water warrior army, a dreadnaught 3some and a IG armored company. I have 2 months to play test with proxys before I'm going to buy so by then I should have made up my mind! Thanks again!
Just a heads-up, this topic really belongs in the main forum, rather than the army list sub-forum. Methinks you'll get faster answers there in the future =).

If you're intruiged by doctors who are also ninjas, then this is the webcomic for you!
I'll keep in mind thanks.
This doesn't mean if you use GK's footslogging you can't take a LR... stick either of the two choices in (LRC assault objective) (LR hold and capture objective aswell as Anti tank)
stick the footsloggers one the side of LR blocking line of sight to some of the opponents big guns and wala more use for a LR.
As for the next comment... a LRC moving 12" even stopped, a Nurgle Daemon prince with Warptime + d6 extra attacks and all that, from destroying it because it hits on 6's.
As for Meltaguns... Assault the unit... stay away from them, no one is stupid enough to move close them unless you use smoke launchers.
Dreadnought can be a problem... again move 6"... use Hammerhand, Thunderhammers and Meltabomb/NFW to hit better.
Lance Strike is hit and miss.
Anyway of course you can do a water warrior army... it's still viable because LR's have a better than current average machine spirit. I wouldn't worry about 5th edition and how it effects water warrior.
