Edit out the +x points for power weapon

your bassilisks neeeed indirect fire trust me

Id recomend a grenade launcher in each of your troops squads

What are you going to do about tanks?
a group of rough riders with meltguns/meltabombs would work with the theme of your army (horses were used in ww1)

The HB team is a seperate unit of 6 guys with 3 HB's. Other than that some at least decent weapons on the line squads would help. By for example dropping the HB team you could give each of your line squads a heavy bolter and suddenly 3 HB's become 8 much more effective.

thanks for the input guys. i was only thinkin that my squads need to move forward as quick as possible, so i wouldnt be able to use the heavy bolters much if they were in a squad because they would always be moving. i was thinkin i could use the 3 basilisks to kill any enemy vehicles and to provide support for the infantry. or i was toying with the idea of a creeping barrage sort of tactic. the idea of the 3 heavy bolters and command squad was to protect the basilisks incase of attack. i have been doing warhammer for a while but im not really a very good tactician, so im all for ideas from u guys. my style of play is verymuch long lines of infantry charging forward while being supported by heavy weapons.

Rough riders could be cool in an army of this style I would have thought. I would also consider putting grenade launchers in your line squads, to give you a little more firepower, but avoid slowing you down. This could work though I think, especially in the new rules where troops become more important.

I'd also definitely consider indirect fire, if not on all, then at least on 1 or 2 of the basilisks.

If you wanted to go for a completely world war 1 flavor, then the mortar is probably the most fluffy heavy weapon available to you, though perhaps not the most effective...

Have you considered doctrines? I would personally take close order drill, and iron discipline, cheap and cheerful, but attempts to make sure that once you reach your objectives, you stay there.

1 Piece of advice, if you're going to play like a world war 1 commander, don't think like one.... Stick to cover with your infantry as much as you can, they're damned fragile.

    Hope this helps.
