    first 500pts list

    I've put together this list using only what I have. I've not added any Las cannon's as I would not expect to see much armour at 500 pts, and my ML's should be able to mix it up anyway.

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

    looks fine, but i'd try to figure some area's to drop points and give the two infantry squads some special weapons (ie grenade launchers). duel-template chucking squads are good times.

    smoke on the chimera for one shouldn't be necessary, the board'll probably be 4'x4' which should be small enough to fire each turn. shouldn't be too many open spaces nor should you be trying to cross them since as you're only tank (a light one at that) it'll probably be focus fired by most anti-tank weapons and blown.

    I'll take out a h/vet w/plasma and add a GL to each platoon squad.

    Don't combine shotguns and plasma. You are probable going to always want to use the plasma in the vet squad so you will either be standing and firing at a distance that the shotguns can't reach or moving and rapid firing, in which case the shotgun still affords you no advantage. Shotguns are cool but should not be in a plasma squad. Grenade launchers, flamers, meltas, maybe but not plasma.

    It's just a good rule to keep assault weapons with assault weapons and rapid fire weapons with rapid fire weapons. I try to keep this in mind when equipping wargear and special weapons.
