Im playing a vet eldar player on monday for 1000 points, i always play around 1500 points and 2000 but never below that lol. Any help would be much apreciated
Here we go:
Tac Squad: Full squad, power weapon, missle and flamer. 220
Tac squad: Full squad, power weapon, missle and flamer, 220
Assault Squad: full squad, power fist and combat shield 285
Assault bikes: with multi-meltas 150
and the lovely death co,,, 3 marines (ah well cannon fodder time)
Total is 995 (probably add the extra five for melta bombs for my assault sarge)
All sugestions welcome, the stuff i have spare is a pred, termies, a couple of tac squads, vet assaults, memphiston, honour guard
in a blood angels army, i'd recommend a chaplain, attach him to the AS. just out of curiosity, what did you have in mind with the Libby?
hi, btw, and good list, nice and balanced!
do you know if you could scrap up some points for rhinos or droppods (if your friend ain't an armour-toting Eldar, then you could ditch a bike or two)
thats just my two cents. probably stupid suggestions! i havent had much experience with BA!
yeah my only problem is that my chaplain is only a foot slogger, gotta get a jump pack one,
well the general idea for the lib is to hitch with the assaults (bd libs have a rule called wings of sanguinus which allows them to move as an assault) and negate any seers etc that he brings with the physic hood and then pop away with his powers or close in cc with them and the assaults. Or hug scenery and pound the puppys out of his marine killers.
Tacs will move up by covering each other per move until they reach a nice postion or their target,
Assaults will follow the lib and pounce on anything thats gunna be trying to kill him,
Bikes will move up the opposite side to the assaults and vape armour or stationary troops aka dark reapers. Then sweep in behind his force and try to shoot up any thing else trying to flank etc
Death co, will run all the way to the nearest enemy hopefully survivng it and mushing the odd eldar, but as there are only like three i wont put too much on them.
Thats actually one of my main probs ive never played the bloke before lol, but il take extra units so that if he leans either way i should be able to match.
tactics sound good! let us know how your game went.
It has been my recent experience that the Librarian is somewhat fragile.
My Librarian was killed at range on several occasions due, IMO, largely to the lack of an Invulnerable save.
This makes the Chaplain and even (gulp) the captain a little more viable in my book.

hmm, scifizombie, i know what you mean, i've heard a lot of people say the best way to run a librarian is in Tactical Dreadnought Armour with a Terminator squad.
how have you been fielding your libby?
You want your librarian against eldar the psychic hood alone is worth the points cost avoid the avatar in cc it will kill u.
I play eldar regularly and can kill most of them with ease but my opponents avatar just dose not die would recomend dropping the bizes and tacking a baal pred as the avatar is imune to meltas and flamers and with 4 wounds +3 a +4 inverable save wepon skilll 10 and 5 attacks each turn (which ignore amour saves) it will casue problams.
I have seen it walk thur tac squads assult marines even terminators (had twin lightning claws thunderhammers and stormshields much more effective but 2 exsensive at 1000pts) but if u can catch it with a rendering shot from the baal u can kill it

Yes, the avatar is formidable. But not nearly as bad as he's suggesting. It's toughness 6 and 4 wounds; with a 3+/4+ save. The main thing that makes it terrifying to marines is that it's a monstrous creature that strikes at initiative 6, so it'll rape half of a marine squad before they get a chance to hit it. And it's immune to flame and melta weapons. However, it is NOT an eternal warrior. A force weapon (assuming you get a wound through) can kill it.
A baal predator is a very good tank though. With overcharged engines, it can move 6 inches and still shoot all of its weapons since it moves as a fast vehicle, and assuming the avatar isn't fortuned, you've got a pretty good chance of just inflicting enough wounds that it will eventually fall down. Plasma will usually cause some damage fairly quickly, and missile launchers are practically the ideal weapon for taking it out.
Though now that you mention it... having a Librarian in TDA that can move as jump infantry...
That may just work out, though I wonder if it would be better to leave the Terminator squad out of it, as not to hinder the Librarians movement? Something to ponder....
