Currently thinking of using this in a competition wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the list?
Librarian: terminator armour, combi plasma gun, epostiliary, smite+null zone. 185pts
Chaplain: terminator armour, storm bolter, melta bombs. 135pts
Tactical 1: 10 men, plasma gun, heavy bolter. 180pts
Tactical 2: 10 men, plasma gun, heavy bolter. 180pts
Tactical 3: 10 men, plasma gun, multi-melta. 180pts
Terminator squad 1: 5 storm bolters and p-fists (sgt p-wpn) 200pts
Terminator squad 2: 5 men, lightning claws. 200pts
Assault squad 1: 10 men, 2x plasma pistols, sgt p-wpn. 235pts
Assault squad 2: 10 men, 2x plasma pistols, sgt p-wpn. 235pts
Devestators: 10 men, 2 missile launchers, 2 lascannons. 270pts
That list rules all out infantry for SM is so awesome.
Maybe some rhinos or drop pods for troops could make capturing objectives easier.
Also your lacking a true combat leader, and the librarian gun seems a waste when u have smite. My other concern for you would be being outmanouvered and having the enemy picking on squads in ones and twos but i like to be mobile.
HQ: Both good. I would considder swapping smite for gate as it can be very useful.
Elites: Swap 1 or 2 lightening claw termies for thunder hammer & storm shield. The ability to allocate bolter hits to the claw figures and put a plasma gun hit onto a TH/SS guy keeps the squad up to strength for longer. It also provides some anti defiler/dread insurance.
Troops: Fine. 4 squads would be better in a 2000 point list but 3 is ok. Considder plasma cannon instead of heavy bolters as they are usually just as good vs hordes and can really hurt terminators and MEQs.
Fast: Good. Perhapse swap plasma pistols on one squad for flamers.
Heavy: Not too keen as they are expensive and can be avoided if you deploy first. Combat squadding them helps. I would suggest replacing them for a 10 man tac squad with plasmagun and lascannon for fire support and spend the other points on 2 attack bikes with multimeltas. These bikes can turboboost then hunt tanks on turn 2 with plenty of manouverability and hitting power.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
List looks good, only problem I can see is if you go up against an extremely maneuverable army the only thing you have that can catch them is the assault squads. Gate might help there.
Someone already mentioned the TH/SH on termies.
I am not a fan of laz cannons in dev squads in this ruleset. 270 points seems too expensive for 2 missile launchers and 2 laz cannons. I guess it comes down to how you play them and what you face, but you might wanna look at what else you could get for those points. You could even take a land raider for cheaper, get the two laz cannons twinlinked, plus some armor and a transport for your assault termies.
Yeah, if you want 2x Lascannons then you'd be better off with a 5man Sternguard Squad with 2x Lascannons, it's cheaper.
I'd use the remaining points to purchase Rhinos and Razorbacks for your Tactical Squads, I believe 3x Tactical Squads is enough and with transportation they are perfect. Its what I use.
