Okay, here's my 1st Tournament list. It's not for a couple of weeks and aside from (probably) some Orks and IG I really have no idea what I'm up against.
GK BC I would really like to take a GM but I can't decide what to drop to take him
- Teleport Homer
- 2 NFW/Sb, 1 NFW/Incinerator, 2 TH/SS
- Psycannon, Auspex
3x Gun Servitors
- 2 HB, 1 Plasma Cannon
6 Storm Troopers
- 2 Plasma guns
9 Grey Knights
8 Grey Knights My concern with DS'ing this squad is that if I come up against an army that I really need to stand and shoot against, then the storm bolter shots here will be wasted. Is it worth the risk? Also, losing a scoring unit could hurt.
This leaves me with 29 points.
I think you're right to stick with the BC over the GM for this points-level, personally. You've already got an expensive centerpiece model in the LRC, so another high-price model is just going to start cutting into your troops.
Speaking of troops, seems to me that two scoring units is too few. I'd move that Fast Attack squad over to Troops. Like you said, it's a waste of storm-bolter shots anyways, though you aren't forced to Deep Strike them if they're taken as a Fast Attack choice: you can always deploy them normally.
Your Stormtrooper squad also looks a little anemic to me if they're footslogging. Two plasma guns are intimidating to a lot of armies you're likely to face, and in my experience small footslogging ISTs draw fire early, then break and run after a few casualties. If you want to keep them small, then a transport (say, a Rhino just to rush them into range or to an objective and block LOS). Otherwise try to get some more bodies in there. You could drop a GK or GKT model and fill out this squad a bit more to make them more robust.
Other than that it looks like a pretty decent list to me.
Good luck in the tourney!

I agree with Hasten. Drop the HQ =][= down to an elite version and buy 2 ISTs and an extra PAGK.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Generally looks good and like above mentioned I like the BC, and make the FAGKs, PAGKS.
I like the Lord =][= as they never run if I don't want them to. I would drop one of Termies to make that unit a little smaller.
I would drop the ISTs personally unless you upgrade them to 10 with a Rhino or Chimera. With the point savings I would make both your PAGK squads 10 men.
let us know how it goes!

Right, I've made some ammendments -
I've dropped the GKTs down to a BC and 4 Terminators. It may cost me in some games, but if I come up against IG I don't need a 6 man terminator squad tearing up one squad per turn due to the new consolidation rules.
I'm hard pressed to decide between keeping the Inq as HQ, but I think there is where he'll stay for the time being. If he goes to Elites, I'm going to have to think hard about which of his retinue to drop - the acolyte, mystic or a HB servitor?
I've moved the 8 man FAGK squad into troops. Obviously this means I've dropped the TH from the BC.
These changes have left me with 65 points to use.
I could drop the ISTs entirely to get even more points back, or I could kit them up entirely and put another squad in, the latter meaning I'll definetly eat into the body count in my PAGKs, which I'm none too keen on doing.
However, I do like the thought of having an 8 man, 2 plasma gun squad in cover, because it'll mean that I can make my opponent think twice about sending terminator squads near them.

Personally I think the Inquisitor is a huge point sink for what he is doing. Force your points into more useful areas. beef up your PAGK units, grab more IST's with specific purposes (either plasma or melta for anti tank) if you are going to take a dread take several and drop the land raider, either run 2 or more or none at all. You might also want to take Psy cannons if you are running your PAGK as troops and toss in a dirt cheap inquisitor with a psycannon (power armor optional). Mini purgation squads if you will.
So lets see:
- 1 less Termy, 1 less storm shield combo, lose the targeter on BC
- Beef up your IST's, maybe give them a vehicle
- Lose the Land raider and grab dreads for anti-tank, take 2 or 3 if you can
- Beef up your PAGK squads, maybe give them psy cannons as foot-sloggers.
- Maybe gran an inquisitor with a psycannon to throw into the PAGK squad.
- Might as well grab an assassin if you have the points and are taking a inquisitor

I quite like the list and I'm going to consider using it but at the moment I'm just about leaning toward playing with the LRC transporting the terminators, not DS'ing them and definetly not foot slogging 'em. To avoid confusion, I'm not going to repost the list as it's effectively a totally different playing style imo.
Well there is definately nothing wrong with DSing termies. But another option is just not to take them. Remember what their purpose is, will they meet that goal with what else you have on the table. If not then maybe you should use their points elsewhere... PAGK's for example.
