Tigurius (counts as)
Sternguard 10 man strong 330
10 man Tactical Squad 225
sergeant with a power weapon
2X 10 man Tactical Squad 205 each
2X Ironclad Dreads 180 each
I need some help refining this list. I've been a drop podder since they first included them in the codex. My friends play necrons, IG, eldar, and tau.
Tactics: divide and conquer. an iron clad, a tactical squad, and the stern guard on first turn accompanied by the two illustrious heroes. mayhem ensues as i create a wall with the pods, splitting line of sight. and tigurius can jump around using the beacons and his gateway phsycic ability if need. the reroll he also gives makes getting those last 3 units on the board so much nicer.
Am I on the right track with the new army list? or is a bit over the top?
HQ: I think you have too many points here. Vulcan and a cheap librarian would be preferable or just drop the Psyker all together. The reserve rerolls are useful but you could get an extra tac squad and drop pod for the points with a little left over for a power weapon or two.
Elites: Dreads are ok. Cheaper dreads with MM & Hvy flamer may do a similar job but you loose the armour protection. Sternguard should swap meltas for plenty of combimeltas as you won't survive that long to use them more that once or twice.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
I have to agree, drop one of your HQ choices to get another drop pod unit.
You have 6 drop pods, which means 3 will enter first turn. A 7th drop pod means 4 will enter first turn, giving you lots of flexibility and more impact on that first turn. Another tac squad gives more scoring too.
alrighty, so 3 combi-meltas added instead of the 2 meltas in the stern guard, and a tactical squad instead of tigurius, other wise solid?
