Ye olde' greetings and salutations!
Mortar, two dudes with guns.
60 points total
Seven man squad of grenadiers with two plasma guns: 100 points
Seven man squad of grenadiers with plasma gun and grenade launcher: 98 points
Seven man squad of grenadiers with two grenade launchers: 96
Leman Russ with heavy bolter: 145.
What say you? So far, it looks like it could bring some pain. Maybe give the JO a bolter?
Not too sure, the chem inhalers doctrine isn't the greatest of doctrines. The gren squads look like they could do ok but the russ is a little underpowered. Perhaps think of edting out a gren squad to beef upt he other two and getting sponsons on the russ?
In 500 points that russ is going to be hard to kill and IMO either their main target or ignored. either way load it out a little more so that it does lots of HB killingness.
Hope that helps
I expect the Russ to sit still most of the time and shoot, so I don't think adding some side heavy-bolters is that good of an investment. However, if I drop the inhalers, then I can get a deep-striking sent with a heavy flamer.
Heavy bolters can't be fired on the move anymore so that isn't the reason. It is because soemtimes it's better to use the triple,hb's than a cannon, say when your own troops are close. Also if you lose the main gun then you only have a heavy bolter left, the sponsons are so incredibly cheap it's pretty much always worth it.
As for the sentinel sounds nice, should do well aginst most horde type armies if you can get it in the right place!
Hope that helps
