I've recently started putting together an Imperial Fist army centered around Lysander and his quest for revenge against those stinking (and downright mean) Iron Warriors. To make this more fluffly on the tabletop, I've focused on creating a list that will be focused on "line-breaking", or smashing aside the fortifications of the Iron Warriors to get to grips with the enemy, while at the same time being a balanced list that is fun to play with and against.
So, those ideas taken into account, here is the list I have currently:
Lysander - 200
Assault Terminators - 5 man squad with SS/TH - 200
Infantry Squad 1 - 10 Marines with Lascannon, Flamer & PF/CMelta on serg with Razorback - 255
Infantry Squad 2 - 10 Marines with Lascannon, Flamer & PF/CMelta on serg with Razorback - 255
Infantry Squad 3 - 10 Marines with Lascannon, Flamer & PF/CMelta on serg with Razorback - 255
Vindicator - 115
TOTAL - 1280
So, consider this the base of the list that is relatively firm. I would make changes if they were suggested and stayed along the idea of the fluff.
The real question begins when I start to think about what to add to the list to get it to 1500 pts. What should I use that remaining 220 pts on that would be both beneficial to the list, and keep with the idea of the fluff? When you suggest, can you explain why you suggested what you suggested?
A few suggestions have been:
1. Whirlwind & Ironclad Dreadnought
2. Assault marine squad
3. scout squad & 2 Land speeders
"Listen up you primitive screwheads ... see this ... this is my BOOM-stick!" - Ash
"I told you, it's not Pink! It's Light Red!" Donut on his new power-armor.
I would find a few more pounts and take a land raider of some kind for the terminators.
It also goes with you fluff if you take a lascannon one.
Of the option you suggested i would go with option 1. And put the ironclad in a drop pod.
I don't rate assault marines as in my experience of them they do very little damage.
Option 3 is ok. Scouts do die easily and land speader cost a lot in money, but i don't think this option goes with your fluff.

The best place to buy warhammer: Miniatures2u
Drop a Razorback and toss in a redemeer as Lysander's ride.
Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
indeed a redeemer, but I would drop 2 combi meltas for the extra points.
VISCUS EST PALLENS
What about 2 more vindicators! This would stay with the siege fluff, be pretty hard to kill (harder then just one LR) and just be awesome. 3 Vindicators and razorbacks rolling along are gonna be a very imposing and versatile force.
