Hi all, ive got a game tomorow against a chaos player, we have decided on 3000 points
Here we go:
honour guard-305--" marines + fist+Pwrweapon/combat shield/jump packs
Captain 130- dual claws
honour guard- 270- melta,fist,plasma pistols, 2 pwr weaopons
Death Co- Rhino (40)
Death co Dread- 130
Vet Assaults-fist+plasma gun+melta+pwr weapon+plasma pistol---225
In the new codex marines dont have to pay for standard squad weapon choices (missles and flamers), i asked the dudes at my store an they said that i could apply this to my marines.
Tac1-missles/flamer, fist -215
Tac2-missles/flamer, fist- 215
Tac3-missles/flamer, pwr weapon- 205
Assaults- Fist/combat shield- 285
Attack bike squad (3 bikes with multi-meltas)-150
Terminus Ultra- 300
Pred annilator- pintle+hvy bolter mounts, twin lascannons-135
Devestators-2 plasma cannons and 2 lascannons
Total -2975 i think.
Plan is to split tac squads into combat squads, heavy weapons giving support while others advance, jump packs remain in deepstrike for a hard hitting reserve, ultra and devestators stay put and fry enemy armour, pred moves up field on opposite flank to attack bikes seeking armour and again support, dreads will either go for deepstrike or run up field until in range. Death co will obviously move towards nearest enemy so will place them dead centre. Memphison will also go dead centre moveing up field flattening enemy hq and elites, captain (not sure if im gunna give them the rhino from the death co or not) will go straight for the enemy Hq, once they are dead then move to troops.
Any comments suggestions welcome
In 3000 points you could find some points to add transports to your tac squads, lol, 3 rhino's would be just over 100 points, and they are very useful, or drop a tac squad and make it an assault squad, I find that bolters vs power armour just don't cut it, better to be in assault with some mad jump pack marines. LR Terminus hey? Cool, lol.

Hellblade: I don't think you can take an SM tactical squad out of the new codex that does NOT have to pay for its special weapons. The guys at your store may say you can do this, but eventually I think they will wise up, or you will run into someone that will rightfully call shennanigans on that play. Here's why: your troops cost more, and your special weapons cost more, because the extra cost goes towards "part" of the cost of your death company...and that's why it doesn't seem right to me when people say the death company is a "free," "expandable," or "bonus" unit that you can throw at the enemy however you want because it didn't cost anything. You're paying a lot for the death company.
That is just my two cents. There are probably people out there that can explain this issue better than me, but bottom line: be careful and make sure you stick EXACTLY to the blood angels revised codex...which in many cases uses old SM rules and old SM point costs.
darkness--- yeah i thought about droping a tac squad but my op usually uses lots of deamons, unfortunalty he didnt decide to use them this time lol, and yep terminus ultra lol very handy at nuking lots of armour very quickly. Also currently i dont have 3 rhinos lol only got the one that my dc used definatly need to get more lol.
Bitwise----thinking about it ur probably right, i modded the list using the points i had left and by removing one of the honour guard on memphiston and an attack bike.
I won by the way even though he used 3500 points lol, lost my bikes, death co, and the predator with some ones and twos taken from 2 of my tac squads. Killed everything of his (20 terminators, 1 oblitator, **** the betrayor, 60 odd marines, 6 bikes, lr, rhino, havocs, 2 chaos lords, soceror and retinue). game took 3 hours to finish.
