Welcome to Librarium Online!
I recently invested in some Dark Angels and decided to go with a mech army its probably better doing it from the new Space Marine codex but i dont have that atm.
So heres my list any feedback is welcome:
Tactical Squad-+5 Marines-Meltabombs-Power Weapon-Flamer-H.Bolter-Razorback-250
Tactical Squad-+5 Marines-Power Fist-Meltagun-Missile Launcher-Razorback-260
Tactical Sqaud-+5 Marines-Meltabombs-Plasma Gun-Plasma Cannon-Razorback-Twin-Linked Lascannon-280
Land Speeder-Assault Cannon-100
I haven't studied the dark angel codex that much but looking at the points you pay for most of your units I think you may be better using the standard space marine codex .This way you will save 50 or so points and get the combat tactics rule.
Dark angel codex is still useful for getting deathwing lists and ravenwing.

As far as I can tell, if you use the new SM codex, this will come out to 1415 pts. That's a second whirlwind or h.bolter sponson predator to make up 1500. Or something else fun. You will lose out on some stats from the chaplain, but you also save some points there, too. Ultimately, from a game perspective, if you are not going to use DA specific special abilities (i.e. doublwing lists, Rites of Battle, etc.) you are probably better off making your list from the new SM codex.
There is nothing stopping you from using a DA list, it is still competitive, but it just seems that you can get more bang for your buck running a codex list.

Unfortunately and it irks me greatly to say this but you are right. Sadly there is almost no point in using the DA dex if you are fielding a purely Greenwing army.
The only real advantage to be gained from Greenwing + DA dex is being able to take a special weapon in small 5-man tac squads. This can be useful, but as others have said, with the points saved you could buy something else.
